What does that even mean, "his lot in life"?

tweet deleted. what did it say?

Lewis must have deleted the Tweet because it's not loading anymore.

Andy Fart has issues.
Just wait - we'll get to listen to Andy Hart and Paul Perillo offer their inane banter and terrible commentary from the Bob's Discount Furniture Studio brought to you by US Healthcare during preseason games....they make me long for the days of Don Criqui and Randy Cross

You don't need to see Lewis's tweet back to know that's true. Someone who puts their body in harm's way in the NFL deserves more respect.
To me, it's one thing to predict that a guy won't make the roster this year.

It's another thing to be basically rooting for the guy to be cut, and going out of your way to try and discredit his performances.

A bit dramatic don't you think?
When I think of people who put themselves in harm's way, I think of soldiers and police....not coddled professional athletes who play games for our entertainment.

I took it a little differently. I think he meant what Lewis does in contrast to what Hart does

It's a weird thing to criticize a player for. From what I've seen (full disclosure: I haven't really looked), it's not like Lewis is promoting himself or bragging about his accomplishments at these events. Plus, you can point to impressive stuff Lewis has done on the field - a rushing, a receiving and a KR TD in a playoff game is a pretty rare feat.

The way Hart portrays it, Brandon Bolden* is going to the ESPYs and saying he should have been the SB MVP.

*I'm aware that Bolden is a valued contributor to the team. I was using him as an example of someone who doesn't show up on the stat sheet in terms a carries, receptions, etc.

"lot in life" ??

Andy Hart may want to realize that Lewis has had to fight and claw for anything he's gotten in the NFL.

5th rd pick by Philly, only gets ~30 touches a year over 2 years
gets traded to Cleveland, almost immediately breaks his leg, misses the year and gets cut
signs with Indy, gets cut 7 days later
signs with New England

In 5 seasons, he's been traded 1x, cut 2x, come back from a broken leg and come back from a torn ACL

I am not saying that NFL players are heroes, but someone should put Andy Hart in the backfield on third down with Von Miller heading for the quarterback and only him in the way. A podgy dude who makes money off the players on the sidelines should keep a civil tongue in his head.

And, as for "coddled professional athletes" ...

Of course, they have a career playing a game they love. But it's a very, very tough career. How much fun is it rehabbing from a fracture or a torn ACL? And, unless you get a much bigger contract than Dion has had, you don't have a life of luxury to look forward to after it's done. To say nothing of the impact on your skull of all of those hits.

Coddled in one way, abused like holy hell in a many others.

Especially in the US I don't think a reporter needs to be criticizing anyone else for being coddled. We let the media almost literally get away with murder in this country and he is going to cry about pampered athletes? Come on here.

A lot got lost in translation here.

"Lot in life," means station or position a guy has achieved, so I think Hart was just delivering a old-Sportscenter-style riff on Dion is the sauce rn. Lewis telling him to stop sucking him maybe means he didn't like how overtly Hart was complimenting him, or maybe he didn't understand what Hart was saying and thought he was hating. I myself didn't take it as Hart saying Lewis is coddled in any way, just that he achieved such status that he was going to these places.

Andy is just another idiot Boston sports guy. He couldn't carry Dion's jockstrap. Unfortunate that Dion responded to idiot Andy. Just like Marshall on EEI. He should have known they would low ball him.
