It's easy, and only takes a few moments. There are not many organizations that would give Garoppolo a good opportunity to be an immediate factor in the playoffs that's a simple fact. If you are going to be a non factor a player that's going nowhere you might as well do that with a team was going somewhere. Does Garoppolo really gain anything from starting for a team that's going to go three and 13 even with him compared to keeping his potential in the public view rather than the failure of his new team and therefore may be staying much more in the public light in a positive way.So you'd rather be a backup in NE than a starter anywhere else except Houston?
Gimme a break.
No that's not a simple fact - if Garoppolo is a good QB.There are not many organizations that would give Garoppolo a good opportunity to be an immediate factor in the playoffs that's a simple fact.
If you think Garoppolo would go to a team and lead them to 3-13, then you must think he really sucks. Good Lord if he's that bad, then I sure as hell don't want him here.If you are going to be a non factor a player that's going nowhere you might as well do that with a team was going somewhere. This is not about what Garoppolo would rather do this is about what's in his dispassionate best interest what the most objectively beneficial thing for him would be and I honestly think that with Tom Brady retirements coming sometime within the next 36 months and the opportunity to take over championship veteran Squad with all the perks and Prestige left over from his predecessor the opportunity to risk ratio is heavily in favor of remaining in New EnglandNo that's not a simple fact - if Garoppolo is a good QB.

I find it fascinating how people in here talk about how great great great Garoppolo is, but oh by the way he will be a complete 3-13 failure if he goes anywhere besides New England.
You people who think Garoppolo would rather be a backup here than start elsewhere are living in fantasy land. "Oh he doesn't want to risk injury and concussions!!" "Oh he will go 3-13 if he leaves New England!!" I just cannot believe how out of touch with reality some people are.
Consider the nature of the New England Patriots recent history and the fact that they're starting quarterback is retiring sometime soon I think if I was a quarterback of moderate to good skill I would rather be a backup in New England than a starting quarterback for nearly everybody else because the opportunity to take over Patriots organization is one that may never come again. Remember even when Brady goes Belichick is going nowhere the opportunity to quarterback for the best coach that has ever existed is worth waiting for. And that could easily be a situation where Garoppolo falls into a literal dream job and all he has to do is nothingSo you'd rather be a backup in NE than a starter anywhere else except Houston?

If Garoppolo sucks, then how does taking over for Brady somehow make him better??? If anything, he will go down in history as the horrible QB who drove the Patriots into the ground. Quite honestly, if he sucks, he would be better off going where fans aren't used to winning. I sure would hate to be a lousy QB who takes over for Brady.Let's put it this way right now Jimmy Garoppolo as a little bit like Schrodinger's cat he could be great he could be terrible but all you know about him right now is that he is Brady's backup and you know that that he played well for about a game and a half if he comes out of Schrodinger's box and turns in a couple of abysmal years for some other team how do you think that will affect his legacy or the impression of his ability compared to a player who remains Brady's backup for those two years and takes over the team.
How is holding Brady's clipboard "proximately parallel" to the reward of being a starting QB?The risk for staying put is much lower and the reward is proximately parallel it is in Garoppolo interest to stay right where he is
He becomes the starting quarterback later but quarterbacks for an organization far more likely to put him in a position to succeedIf Garoppolo sucks, then how does taking over for Brady somehow make him better??? There isn't a single QB in the NFL who would rather be a backup anywhere than a starter somewhere. Some guys are forced to be backups because of a lack of talent or contractual obligations.Consider the nature of the New England Patriots recent history and the fact that they're starting quarterback is retiring sometime soon I think if I was a quarterback of moderate to good skill I would rather be a backup in New England than a starting quarterback for nearly everybody else because the opportunity to take over Patriots organization is one that may never come again.
Yeah, all he has to do is sacrifice more years where he is in his physical prime, sacrifice tens of millions of dollars, and sacrifice his self respect.Remember even when Brady goes Belichick is going nowhere the opportunity to quarterback for the best coach that has ever existed is worth waiting for. And that could easily be a situation where Garoppolo falls into a literal dream job and all he has to do is nothing
I doubt Garoppolo defines "succeed" as "carrying a clipboard for 16 games per year until I'm 29."He becomes the starting quarterback later but quarterbacks for an organization far more likely to put him in a position to succeed
You think the best option is to get rid of the best QB in the league to see if the backup is any good?
The odds of winning the SB this way are about a million times higher than #1
Learning the backup had a lack of competitive drive is a much better situation than losing the best QB in the NFL.
I know the thought it was in the shoes of Jimmy Garoppolo the only team I can think of that I would actually be willing to move from Bill Belichick's organization to we be Houston Texans and they don't seem to be interested

You do is the other one is tom Brady. You are suggesting you pay the backup so therefore you have to get rid of the best QB in the NFL because you can't pay 2 QBs.You didn't read that closely to what i wrote i see. I said "if they keep Jimmy they should let Brady walk". That is cause you don't pay for 2 franchise QBs. I never ever ever said I thought keeping Jimmy was the way to go.
Not having brady would weaken the team more. However if they decide to do that then you have to let Brady walk. Investing 40+ million in the QB position won't work. It will weaken the rest of your team too much during the transition and hurt the development they hope to see in JG.
Brady at 40 mill is a better deal. But you are only paying 40 mill so you can keep the backup around until he is needed.Perhaps it should be thought of this way. All the QB money value gets funneled into who starts cause the backup doesn't matter value wise for the money you put into the position. If you keep both you either pay 40M for Brady or you pay 20M for JG.
Not if you intend to winLets assume shall we if they plan to pay JG 20M he is pretty good. You're better off paying someone as good as Phillip Rivers (maybe better) 20M to play than in effect paying Brady 40M.
Top 10 lol.Now if JG isn't at least a top ten QB that tells me BB was wrong to even think of moving on from Brady money aside.
Anything that involves getting rid of the GOAT while he is still the best QB in the NFL is not a reasonable possibility to me.But like I said I want to keep Brady and trade JAG in reality. I am just talking about the possibilities here.
