BOSTON CELTICS vs. Washington Wizards (Eastern semi-finals)

Auerbach also (in 1989) drafted NBA bust Michael Smith at 13 ahead of Hardaway, and Dana Barros ahead of Kemp and Divac. Red had clearly lost his fastball by the end of it. he was wrong about Ainge.
Right. 25 wins to 53 in four seasons with a top 4 pick coming int he draft and he's incompetent. Reminds me of all the chipmunks nibbling at Bill Belichick's heels.

Would you rather watch the Wizards celebrate on garden floor, or watch LeBron James celebrate a sweep on Garden floor? One of those two things are happening...Unfortunately
If the Cavs were to sweep the Cs, then they wouldn't be celebrating at the Garden. Since the Cs are the #1 seed and all.

I choose the former, for two reasons: I despise the Lebron Rules James, and never want to see him despoil the Garden floor with a series-clinching victory; and also because maybe losing to the lousy Wiz will be the wake-up call that the HC, GM & ownership need to realze that this team, as currently constructed, is a million miles away from serious contention.

I would have figured that you might at least know that they can't sweep AND celebrate at the Garden. Since you pretend to be a fan.

Lebron is going to completely undress this Celtics team.

And frankly I'm going to enjoy it because I love watching him play and IDGAF about the Celtics.
Actually, on second thought, you're f###### lying. If you DGAF about the Celtics, you wouldn't have responded to this thread and you wouldn't have been following what's been posted. BUSTED!!!

Ainge has done a great job. A handful of moves can be criticized in hindsight but were at least based on sensible logic at the time (e.g. the Jeff Green and Sebastian Telfair trades, the Fab Melo and James Young selections). The only move he has made that seemed obviously idiotic at the time and still looks moronic now was the trade up to select KO (and passing up Giannis in the process).

That's very little to criticize over many years of great successes. Both objectively and as compared to the embarrassing track record of his clueless predecessor, the C's are in excellent hands.

I give a f.uck about basketball in which the Celtics occasionally partake in.

LOL @ the people that said Pachulia injured Leonard on purpose.

Can someone here explain how they blew a 5 point lead with 65 seconds to go on Friday ? (Celtics game) I don't watch much basketball anymore. Back in the day they would slow it down, drive the lane and make their foul shots in order to win.

The league is much different. Home teams get better calls generally and the Cs couldn't take an offensive foul as it would have led to FTs for Washington because the officials ensured the Wiz had a foul to give and the Cs didn't. So, no the Cs couldn't drive the basket because they most likely would have picked up a charge which basically ensures a free two points for the Wiz.

I obviously found it hard to believe that the Celtics would be the #1 seed, so I momentarily forgot that they were.

Small matter. It probably ends here tonight anyway.

If the people claiming it actually believe that they are morons.
Even worse... Pop just said it to the media about an hour ago.

honestly? stupid play, they were not aware of the situation, and by they i mean primarily IT...we have the ball, 5 up, with 65 seconds to go and 20 seconds on the play clock...he was trapped and panicked, and turned it over in 5 secs for an easy score by Was, and then i forget what happened but it was also stupid

it was 100% us losing our cool...and it still took a miracle shot by Was for them to win, and IT being off by like an inch on a crazy 3 pt attempt at end of game

regardless, the officials have played this whole series in every Was game, the fact that it was that close means we take care of biz easy tonight I think

Both teams have won home games each time they played this season (including playoffs). Hopefully Celtics can win tonight.
I am not worried about losing to Cavs in Eastern finals. This is a young team with a young coach and they are improving. One thing I would like to see though is full effort from Celts every time they take floor. I say that because they seemed a bit sloppy at times in the Bulls & Washington series.

Their youth is another reason why I think it could get ugly at times in the ECF. I think they'll pull out the W tonight. I expect a lot of turnovers in this game.

The fact that the Celtics were in control of that game near the end was crazy. They shot 3/16 from 3 point in the 1st half and were shooting a whopping 35% from the field over all. Washington didn't capitalize on that and we out played them basically in the 2nd half.

Also at the end of the game we lost a full second on the game clock when Washington fouled Olynyk. So IT would have had almost 3 seconds to shoot instead of 1.7 seconds. Which does make a huge difference. It still would have been a buzzer beater but a reasonable amount of time to score. We blew it though and I hope it doesn't come back to bite us tonight. Game 7's are fun though. We should enjoy this game 7 because there is virtually no chance we are taking Cleveland more than 6 games.

Lebron is probably the best Basketball player I have seen play well.. right behind Jordan. Almost to Jordan's level. Different styles though.

This is what young people who disregard Bill Russell, the greatest basketball player of all time, don't understand. Back in his day and up until recently, players got rest in minutes not days.

There's also the misconception that because Russell had to play less rounds in the playoffs it somehow lessened his amazing accomplishments. It looks to me as though the teams now are the beneficiaries of much softer teams, even in the later rounds.
Have CSN on(my bad), Felger as usual revealing his stupendous ignorance and stupidity. Dismissing all old Celtics' accomplishments, claiming it was against bum teams ('58 Hawks would beat the Cavs and GSW today); and that opposing centers were 6'3" bums (Thurmond 6'11", Pettit 6'9", Chamberlain 7'1", Reed 6'9")
