When I chose him as my avi, I had to make sure it was him in the sick 90's uni so it would stand out.

People either absolutely loved or absolutely hated those uniforms. Put me in the former.

They can turn whatever they want into a "tradition.".

Next year half a dozen teams will copy them and trade their first and seconds. But if the Pats use all their picks during the draft, the other teams will say, "Oh, so we should only do it every other year... brilliant!"

Notice how the TE position changed the game after both Gronk and Hernandez were picked in one draft? I think BB had been trying to do that for years (but with an insistence that his TE be able to block, the athleticism wasn't available. There was only one Antonio Gates and one Tony Gonzales...)

Now they're cranking out often huge, pass-catching tight ends, and everybody and his brother's got to have one. Or two. So yeah there is more available talent coming out, but I think what the Pats showed you could do with it changed football.

Best uni is the present one, followed by the "transitional" with Royal Blue not Navy... and last place (sorry die-hards!!!), the cartoon logo continuum.

Someone pointed out on another thread that for a long stretch, we had to get by on one stinking playoff game, and lost to the oilers. Their stupid blue oil derrick looked so much like Pat Patriot on "the big TV" downstairs (maybe 32"), that half the time I saw the Oilers playing and I stopped on that channel to see what my Patriots were up to.

Fond memories of Pat Patriot, when the camera zooms in on it; it feels like home. But it doesn't feel scary. Even those successful teams that were perennial "watch out for these guys next year" teams, you just didn't believe it with Pat Patriot on the hat. Of course, history's attached itself to the flying elvis, and you can't blame Pat Patriot for that. But there's something to be said for turning a page.

Lotta people disrespect the old Uni. For example, in this episode, every character had their voices translated into French except Uni.
