Still smiling even 11 weeks later

You know. I just don't get it. It would be one thing for a fan of a team with no history of winning to be down. But with 16 years of winning. I don't understand. This is what they do! We've seen it time and time again. And it's not homerism or arrogant to think this way, this thinking is backed by 16 years of winning.

I also don't get how people in the stands can just leave a game early. Such as the 2012 Cardinals game or the 2013 Saints game. Ridiculous! This is what they do! Until the clock hits zero, you don't leave the stadium if you're a pats fan.(unless you have an actual need)
Well, first of all, leaving is inexcusable. Full stop.

But of course it was dire there. There's being a fan and there's being reasonable. The Pats lose sometimes too.

Me? I did still believe....thought they needed one turnover but beyond that just tried to stay focused on one play at a time (because a lot was on me, of course. Like all of us. ;))

As one opposing player said, "Listen, and understand. Tom Brady is out there. He can't be reasoned with, he can't be bargained with...he doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear...and he absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you lose."
I'm concerned about these analogies with the bad guys (the Empire, the Terminator).

It's cool but, the truth is, we're the good guys. We always have been.

I keep noticing how, one the Hightower Strip sack, just how close Chris Long was from being there too. That never gets mentioned.

Jake Matthews had a rough 2nd half, between that play and his two huge holding calls.

Alex Mack had a bad 4th quarter against Flowers. I'm wondering if his pain killing shot for his broken fibula had worn off sometime in the 2nd half.

Regards,
Chris

I never noticed before at the OT coin toss Matt Ryan telling our guys great job. Classy.
Well he knew it was the last chance he'd be able to say anything to the Pats D for a while.

They sat right there. My daughter made them. I never eat like that. They were so friggan good.

I was totally fine, actually. I didn't want booze or anymore snacks. I had a Makers earlier.

I had one cupcake in the 1st 1/2 ,1 at 1/2 time and 2 in the 3rd qtr.

I spread it out. Lol
That last one was the lucky one it all turned on #4.

Love hearing the mic'ed up banter.

I hadn't seen that one yet. Thanks for posting it.

It's funny you say that. My brother in law, a Dolphin's fan, said the same thing. He said, it's the Patriots, and it's Tom Brady, no lead is safe. He thought they were gonna win, even down 28-3. I had lost hope, but in my head I kept thinking, ok score 14 in the 3rd, and then shut them out in the 4th and score 14+. Didn't work out exactly like that, but close. I thought the same way against Seattle, let's out score then 14-0 in the 4th, it's what came to my mind. Wasn't sure if they can do it, but they did exactly that.

It's weird, it's like Brady puts himself in a hole early, and then he's unbeatable late, just deadly really, especially 4th quarters when down.

I wish I could find the clip of BB saying something like "They can't pass rush us all game....they'll wear down" or something to that effect. I remember it but can't find it. Anyways I think it's less to do with Brady putting them in a hole and more to do with teams expending all their energy trying to get to him early and wearing down late.

Thanks for posting, just watched it again

You could hear him telling High after the play," I thought I had him".

Even when using Star Wars characters, Goodell needs to be Hitler. Not the Emperor. Not Vader. Not a Harry Potter crossover reference to Voldemort. Hitler.

Ironically I am watching Sound FX from the Super Bowl as I opened this thread. How appropriate. Party on!

I was at my buddy's house for the first time since the Super Bowl...definitely happy memories. I recently taught an Army course on resiliency and I used 28-3 as my example...to the groan of most of the soldiers in there. Three of us were smiling, though.

4 hours is too long for some things.

Nonsense...

Make him into osama bin roger or roger arafat..momar goodell.
