Yesterday, saw a sign of the score and time left in the 3rd quarter. Still shake my head in disbelief.

"Dont ever give up, or lose faith. Ever."

The night I ate 4 chocolate raspberry cupcakes to drown my sorrows...

You know. I just don't get it. It would be one thing for a fan of a team with no history of winning to be down. But with 16 years of winning. I don't understand. This is what they do! We've seen it time and time again. And it's not homerism or arrogant to think this way, this thinking is backed by 16 years of winning.

I also don't get how people in the stands can just leave a game early. Such as the 2012 Cardinals game or the 2013 Saints game. Ridiculous! This is what they do! Until the clock hits zero, you don't leave the stadium if you're a pats fan.(unless you have an actual need)

Yikes! So you had a bellyache during the celebration?

How did you explain that to your family, or did you just keep quiet?

They sat right there. My daughter made them. I never eat like that. They were so friggan good.

I was totally fine, actually. I didn't want booze or anymore snacks. I had a Makers earlier.

I had one cupcake in the 1st 1/2 ,1 at 1/2 time and 2 in the 3rd qtr.

I spread it out. Lol

Can't explain it. I was supremely confident going in.

But down 28-3....I needed cupcakes.

You know you have to do this EVERY Pat's Super Bowl going forward.

Well, to be fair I think we all had some hope of a comeback, because as you put.......they are the Pats and this is what they do.

I was disappointed at halftime but I knew full well that they could comeback. When the got the quick 3 & out and the good punt return I thought........alright, here we go.

Then instead we get stopped and Atlanta scores?!?!?!? THAT was demoralizing.

Had to collect myself and keep the faith but 25 points is A LOT. Sure, they've had 16 tears of success, but not 16 years of success in coming back from 25 points.

I was still hopeful but I can't equate how much of it was homerism vs acutal belief.

It's funny you say that. My brother in law, a Dolphin's fan, said the same thing. He said, it's the Patriots, and it's Tom Brady, no lead is safe. He thought they were gonna win, even down 28-3. I had lost hope, but in my head I kept thinking, ok score 14 in the 3rd, and then shut them out in the 4th and score 14+. Didn't work out exactly like that, but close. I thought the same way against Seattle, let's out score then 14-0 in the 4th, it's what came to my mind. Wasn't sure if they can do it, but they did exactly that.

It's weird, it's like Brady puts himself in a hole early, and then he's unbeatable late, just deadly really, especially 4th quarters when down.

I was on the game thread here the whole game. Some of us were referencing miracles, etc...My adrenaline just kept rising, especially after the missed PAT, time was becoming a bigger and bigger factor every minute.

But it was nothing like, say, for example the 1984 Super Bowl, where I knew the Redskins had zero chance in the game. Yes, I hated them, but more importantly, they were simply a vastly inferior (and overrated) team.

I think, in a little over one quarter of football plus the overtime, Bill Belichick got to see all the hard work and effort invested over years with this team, going over procedures and fundamentals and dealing with challenging, time-pressure situations over and over with players and coaches, pay off in a big way. We got that one, huge turnover and won the coin toss. The rest was purely grinding it out.

As one opposing player said, "Listen, and understand. Tom Brady is out there. He can't be reasoned with, he can't be bargained with...he doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear...and he absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you lose."

Games are won in crunch time, when it counts, usually in the fourth quarter.

You can get away with making some mistakes early - like Adam did before, and Tom.

For perspective, just look at the 2009 Patriots: 2-6 on the road. I think they led at the half of every one of those losses. Ugh.
