Patriots extend offer to Bills RFA RB Mike Gillislee

With the Pats organization...NO DAYS OFF. Always three steps ahead of every other franchise. Amazing to see it in action, like a well oiled machine.
Go Pats

That's what I'm saying maybe they feel the talent at RB is so deep that they could still get someone decent well into Day 3...same for TE's.

All of those late TEs are developmental projects with flashy combine numbers. Most of them would be lucky if they turn out to be like Derby. I don't know how often it has to be said that a true TE (blocking + receiving) is among the most difficult positions to project from college to pros. Teams get it wrong early year after year.

Two probable losers today: LGB & Floyd

No didn't you hear, White and Lewis are both done and on the trading block now that we've signed the two-headed monster of Burkhead and Gilliesileisliselsielsieilsese.

White, especially, it's been MONTHS since that guy has done anything of note.

I like blount for what he is. a goal line and closer back. who you can trot out there when up 10-15 points and run the clock.

BUT when it has come to the playoffs and better teams he really hasnt done much. It would be nice to give brady some semblence of a running game in the playoffs.

I agree. I think, outside of someone being injured in camp, that Bolden would be the first casualty. That's if they only carry 5 backs.

That seems like a reasonable assumption. Burkhead is a core special teams player like Bolden, and probably offers more as a RB.

In any case, White, Lewis, Burkhead, and Gillislee seem like locks. Bolden would be on the outside looking in right now.

Bolden would most probably end up on the shadow roster, ready to go if a key ST player or RB gets injured. He doesn't seem to have much more going on.

Probably. He was on the market for weeks this spring and got no bites. That might change midseason, when running backs start dropping like flies and teams get desperate for a body, but there will be plenty of better pure runners out there after cuts. If his special teams production can be replaced then there's really no reason to keep him on the opening day roster.

Yep I agree. He is an injury fallback for core ST players and emergency RB/camp body.

Does BB have a contract with footballoutsiders and is trying to big league Collinsworth and PFF?

He doesn't particularly care for advanced statistics..
he just takes what's on the top..

Basically, BB has got it so that however the rb situation shakes out, he's in good shape. We can argue over which outcome is best, but the fact is any of the remotely likely scenarios is good.

It's hard not to gloat. What must it be like to be a fan of any other AFC East team?

People can spin this however they want. If this deal goes through Bill has allocated 6 million to two medicore backs who are not as good as Blount who has proven to be an excellent fit in the system. This gives us five JAG running backs. Four if you are like me and don't think Boldin will make the team.
both are better than Blount..and Gillislee is really good..have you even seen him play?

What is the deadline for the Bills to match or not?
