I understand Blount had a monster year as far as numbers go and he wants to cash in on that, but even he had to realize, he was cooked by game 12. Bb knows a running backs legs are the first to go.
Blount must be miffed that Rex got $3m
You get what your role is valued at. Blount is just not versatile and good enough to be paid more in this offense. At this point in his career he should have realized that.
Right. Doing what's best for the franchise is one thing, but I really hope BB isn't being penny wise, pound foolish here. This is a better team with LeGarritte Blount than without himWould like to see him get a paycheck. Guy bought into the patriot way totally.
That's actually possible. Blount is only really effective at one aspect of the running game, vertical, top down short yardage power runs. It just happens that that's one of the more visible running back roles. If Burkhead is at least decent as a short yardage power back, his extra versatility on routes and in special teams might make him a better overall package. But I still want Blount as a short yardage specialist if nothing else.So Rex whatever is going to have a bigger role than Blount?
I think he's pretty mediocre except at the goal line. It would be refreshing to see a genuine threat in the backfield once again, especially to take some of the weight off Brady's shoulders in his "twilight" years.
Well, one of is is slanting the data by using a post-ACL season and ignoring the non-ACL (well, the before ACL injury portion of) season so, yeah, we disagree on what's important.
However, if you want to level the playing field a bit, just take a look at the following:
Lewis 2015 - 36 receptions in 7 games
Lewis 2016 - 17 receptions in 7 games
White 2015 - 40 receptions in 14 games
White 2016 - 60 receptions in 16 games
In other words, even with the ACL issue clearly impacting his numbers last year, Lewis (3.8) is averaging more receptions per game than is White (3.3), since Lewis joined the team. Lewis, with that 3.8 (3.7857), is even averaging more receptions per game than White averaged in his best year (last season) (3.75).
This might be accurate but he has to understand his situation and the RB market.Blount must be miffed that Rex got $3m
The fact he is 30 and not a big part of the passing game is killing him.

Also: that siht that went down in Pittsburgh.
The fact that blount, peterson and charles are not signed shows to me the market for running backs is not what they are looking for.
But as no team is going to show these guys the $$ at some point they are going to have to accept what is on the table.
So imo blount will be back it might take some time but eventually he will realize pats have the best offer out there
Lol, me too. But how can that not scare away other suitors?Love him more for that. He wanted out of Ben's world and came back to help us win the SB. '14 and '16 were a nice nose rub for the Squealers
His average yards per carry has dropped each of the last three seasons and as you rightly observe he was a non-factor in the postseason. I'm not saying he was "bad" last year, just not a dynamic threat. I'd like to see a breakdown of his first-down runs where he really seemed to flounder. Someone like Ridley (pre-injury) would make me happy at that position. The Ridley-Vereen combo was pretty good. So,
1) you explain that as being all those goaline 1 ypc TDs.
2) And he didn't have as many 20+ yard runs as you would like.
Yet, as I pointed out, even calculating in those two above points you made, he STILL had a 3.9 ypc average.
I'm sorry, Tunie, but your contentions and SIMPLE MATH pretty much prove he had an outstanding regular season last year. And looking at his career, he is on an upward trajectory (as is clearly the opposite with Peterson).
I do agree, however, that (outside of the DeflateGate game) he has not been a good post-season RB.
