Jets Suck -- 2017 Edition (Official): Countdown to Oblivion

The article scores with every sentence. Here are my favourites:

"Cupcakes? Did they think they were pursuing Eddie Lacy?"

"Who would have thought that a team of pricey veteran 30-somethings would get old so suddenly? Well, everyone would have thought that but the Jets, who put zero effort into developing prospects to replace the mercenaries."

"Unfortunately, general managers and head coaches who gut the roster to serve the future in year three of their contracts are rarely around to see what happens in year four. The Jets can't afford to properly rebuild right now. They are in no position to compete, either."
You might start to feel sorry for them -- if they weren't the Jets.

The current Jet offensive depth chart is scary bad, even for the Jets.

QB: Josh McCown, Bryce Petty, Christian Hackenburg. No punch line necessary.

WR: Quincy Enunwa will see plenty of double teams because after that there is Eric Decker in the slot (if he is ready to play after shoulder surgery, and is not cut once he passes a physical; Decker is due $7.2 mil this year with a cap figure of $8.75 mil). Then there is Charone Peake (7th round pick w/19 career receptions) and a bevy of unknown undrafted free agents.

OL: Undrafted center Wesley Johnson was un-spectacular in 8 starts last year. Undrafted Brent Qvale has filled in at a few positions and right now is the starting RT.

TE: More undrafted JAGs (Brandon Bostick, Braedon Bowman, Eric Tomlinson), an over the hill Kellen Davis (6 receptions in last 4 years) and under achieving (except when it comes to drinking) Austin Sefarian-Jenkins (who was suspended for only 2 games, because he's a Jet).

RB: The Jets have Matt Forte and Bilal Powell, but considering the rest of this offense they have little to no chance of being productive.

The suckage this season could be EPIC! I just might plan to attend the Pats away game at New Giants Stadium this year to witness the carnage firsthand.

Think 2011 Colts level of suckage.

Josh McCown?? :D Is this not the best Patriots season + offseason EVER?

There is nothing more optimistic than finally getting a QB.
But even when your team DOES get a QB, it ruins him. You think quarterbacks operate in a vacuum? More than a QB your team needs an owner, general manager, coach, supporting cast of teammates, fan base, home stadium, city, country and planet.

What -- giving up already? I thought this was your time of year for optimism.
The jest are on the verge of winning the super bowl and he quits...wow, not a true fan.

brainless...mindless...bereft of any and all sense of propriety....perennial drunkard grandstanders that perpetually step on their d!cks...the Jet fan is a unique creature...a twisted, sorry excuse for a sports fan but beyond this fact, an even more reprehensible stain on the population of the United States.
If ever there is created a national day of disgrace for the worst facets of our society, I would think that Jet fan would have to be the inaugural example.
Maybe the greatest anti-rats rant i have ever read, i am in awe sir.

Nothing more delicious than a good list of the Jets failures and shady deals.....but don't forget, WE'RE the cheaters ! hahahahahaha.

My brother is a Bills fan, but thankfully he's not a Jets fan. haha.

Isn't it ironic that the Jets only come out as winners (based on user feedback) when we point out that they are losers?

They are the gift that keeps on giving.
The eternal proof that they have their own competitive and expectation-based sense of gravity (in that what goes up must come down)

We're the "cheaters" because they don't like the cards reality is dealing them.

They just can't accept that a Boston team is, possibly, the best run franchise in any sport ever, and when compared to the one NY dynasty, the Yankees, who purchased their dominance, the Pats did it under the confines of a salary cap, which exposes the Yankees as the real pretender to excellence.

Rather than have to accept that the ugly reflection in the mirror is reality, they would rather try to diminish the Pats' accomplishments as illegitamte, since they have no hope of ever matching the Pats' excellence.

They can make all the cheating claims they want, but deep down they know it isn't true, and if you read the Wailing Wall of Rats, otherwise known as their messageboards, it is readily apparent they are miserable.

And we'll deserved I might add.

Ah, a logical paradox!

Can there be a team that sucks at everything?

What happens when the Jets try to suck? Will they suck more? Or will they suck at sucking?

Since it's the Jets, my answer is: yes to both!

Wow, that is really profound. Almost like a Catch 22 of suck.

We suck, therefore we are Rats.

You're right. There's a girl from Queens on my team at work.....such hate for Boston. But a Giants fan, not Jets, sooooo, that's better? ;) Hard to tell.

Well, since there is documented NFL* bias towards the Giants, your co-worker will never be sure whether the Giants won fairly or not.

Maybe give her a friendly reminder. :D

Sure were some unusual calls in those Superbowls, not to mention the BS about taping the Rams walkthrough and threatened Congressional investigation just one day before the Superbowl.

The Pats were only trying to make history, but I'm sure that had no effect on the Pats' preparation.

I think the Jets will suck at sucking. Finish 4-12 or 5-11, just good enough to get no shot at a 2018 quarterback.
