All quiet on Hightower front or Dont'a-do-it FA tour

If HT were to leave at 10M, 11M, 12M, or 13M per, what is the hypothetical projected comp round NE would receive a pick back at each of those numbers? Just wondering, as I'm sure this was factored into the NE offer.
He would balance out the Gilmore signing. We would get (probably) a #4 for Ryan who is currently balanced out by Gilmore.

Agh, I could've sworn he was on the market at one point around that time. And I don't mean after 2013 when he about left.
Yea they franchised him and he signed his deal in the spring of 2010.

Hightower's jersey is already on sale at the Patriots Pro Shop with the likes of Mayo, Dobson and Collins....

Let's be honest, I'm getting the vibe he wants any excuse not to stay here.

I guess it would be honest of me to reflect on vibe you say you are getting, after you've said so. There is philosophical depth to that question, however.

But a better question: how are you "getting a vibe" that's the slightest bit trustworthy from reading third and fourth hand information? How can you possibly be inferring his motives based on the fact that he's visiting various potential employers?

No, not concerned about the balancing. Just what is the projected round for those AAV's (10,11,12,13M) in a vacuum. Or, if you prefer, pre-Gilmore signing (i.e. when original HT offer was made).

i wouldn't read anything into it. that hightower jersey is only discounted $10 and is probably a size small. they were selling that same jersey last year for $89.99.

Some web admin intern jumping the gun

I hope

The discount isn't nearly as steep as those other players, and is probably simply reflective of the uncertainty surrounding High...at least, that's my hope as well.

I am aware of all that and remember all that. It is not even just about sticking around. I just get the feeling Hightower hasn't bought in like those players did when here. Even if he resigns here I almost feel like he has a mercenary mentality and just is looking to punch the time card more than soak in the culture if that makes it more clear. Nothing wrong with that. Just wondering if anyone else felt that way.
McGinnest and Wilfork didn't so much leave over money as leave because the team told them that they were moving on from them.

Beat me to it...

Yea and IIRC for both Willie and VW, the NEP didn't even offer a restructure as not to insult them.

I think hightower's worth the same contract that kuechly's getting. Close to it. I guess he's trying to get a sucker to overpay which would set up a chain reaction from other top linebackers.

If pro shop employees get that type of info .... Im considering a career change and coming after Ian and Adam Schefter.

I wonder if Hightower is pissed that "the system" contained him so much, that he could not get a lot of sacks and thus affecting his market. When unleashed he's been an absolute beast.

Who would pay $49 for an Aaron Dobson jersey? Time to slash some prices.

Go get Zach Brown at half the price, yeah it's a down grade but oh well.
