Patriots trade for Carolina DE Kony Ealy

He's going to be an upgrade of Sheard here. His run D weaknesses won't be exposed with these huge DTs in a rotation.

One Dont'a signing from maybe the best defense we've ever fielded....and the draft hasn't happened.

Is this serious? How is that even possible? Kony Ealy is really, really good, and all we had to do was trade down a round? What's in it for Carolina? This is awesome news for us, too awesome in fact. To the point that I'm really wondering what the catch is, beyond the fact that he's entering the last year of his rookie deal (who cares, for this price?)

Could be a case where the Panthers know they're not gonna pay him after this year so they got something (if very little) for him RIGHT NOW rather than a comp pick in a couple years.

Dude.... really... the guy has made plays in this league (including in a SB) and Bill got him for the price of moving 8 slots down on his second rounder...
