Patriots Trade For Indy TE Dwayne Allen

For those questioning this move: Reminder, the only sane approach to Patriots roster building is to assume the person they bring in will probably do well.

Sorry, but if ever there was a team where defaulting to homerism made sense it is this one.

This has to be shtick at this point, right?.

He is just a loser projecting his life here. Nothing he posts here is ever positive. Must have a great life

This is what Pimp is missing.

And I wish I could winner your post more than once.

So what you hope happens next? It's a done deal. I will hope he works out for us. Maybe he can resurrect his career here.

And just like that, Greg Scruggs will disappear in a puff of magic, in much the same way he arrived, and no one will ever truly know if he really existed, or was just a figment of someone's imagination, made up to scare misbehaving children.

I love reading PatriotsPimp posts. Makes me laugh my ass off

Relax. Not a fan of the move but will hope it works out for us. It's a done deal. I am just surprise his production wasn't more with luck. Maybe because luck was getting destroyed by the OL.

Stats are for losers

While I do like the trade I want to point out a 4th and a 6th are very different. The 4th isa round the Pats have a lot of success in. The 6th is just long shots. Sometimes it works out but often not.

Personally I have always felt there is a big drop off in talent that happens in or after the 4th round. Generally I feel you can reliably say there is a talent drop off there and this year is no exception. That 62 picks is a big drop in talent usually IMO.

I always felt the draft is usually in the following tiers.

1-5
5-15
15-45
45-120
120-UDFA

This draft is a bit different but I still feel after 120 or so the drop off will happen like usual.

Pats had the last pick in the 4th round this year and couldn't trade up because Goodell.

Not a normal 4th round pick this year.

They have us now at 48 million of cap space. No news on hightower

so with Gronk, Allen, and Williams are we going to have 3 in-line TEs and no move TEs at all?

Or maybe a move TE will battle Williams for TE3.

Exact same picks they got Bennett for. Really good blocker, can line up all over but is his health going to hold up? We can only hope so.

We will see but at under 6 million per and 27 it's a great move imo. If he takes it seriously in NE he could turn into a really good #2 TE.

Let's see.

Broncos gave up a 5th for derby.

Pats gave a 4th and got back a 6th for Allen on a 3 year contract?

Only plausible explanation is that Belichick knows hypnosis.

Woah!

Now that's a pretty nice trade, he's a good #2 TE to have.

He's been pretty average... Colts fans for the last 2 years have basically wished that they never extended him and kept Fleener instead.. they were very worried about losing Doyle because they already gave him a big contract..

I'm nervous about this trade, I guess it will depend on what was given up... because he already has a pretty big contract...
