Pats not trading Garoppolo - Schefter

Seems like Schefter has been contradicted....by a Cleveland source.

From Rotoworld:

A league source told the Cleveland Plain Dealer the Patriots are willing to trade Jimmy Garoppolo "if the offer is right."

This disputes a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Everything is still on the table," a source told the Plain Dealer. It's notable that this would appear in a Cleveland paper, as the Patriots would likely be willing to do business with a quarterback-needy team they don't see as a threat. The Browns check both of those boxes and have the ammunition to satisfy New England's demands. The Plain Dealer thinks the Patriots "will want a first-round pick and more."

And Patriots can still say no he is ours

It's all showmanship. San Fran is leaving 2 open. It's all about how blinks first for the receiving team. I'd also rather trade him to San Fran than an AFC team.

I don't care who offers what TBH. Come correct or don't come at all, as some have said here. Best come, first served.

Feel like Pats want a top 15 pick plus either a future first (conditional maybe?) or like a high second...

In addition to the #12 pick, would the Browns offer Joe Hayden? Would the Pats consider that?

His last game isn't really his 'past'.

Virtually all athletes could not do what he did at his current age, hell how many QBs at ANY age could do what Brady did in 2016? 5 ever?

True, but even immediate past is not always prologue. He's 40 and could be injured or in significant decline by next year. Or he could bang out another great year or three. It's impossible to tell and I only give him the benefit of the doubt because he's Tom Brady.

By "past" you must mean 3 1/2 weeks ago? I guess it's time to remind people he went 14-1 this season, his brittle back up lasted 6 quarters.

No, thanks. I don't need any reminders. But he's playing in the NFL at 40. That's tough even for the GOAT.

I still say their trading JG for the right price. They just need an offer they can't refuse.

Brady went for 466 yards, converted two two point conversions and led a 90 + yard drive with the season on the line, led the greatest comeback in NFL History less than a month ago and people here are writing him off, unf.ckingbelievable.

It's mind boggling.

"He could be the next Steve Young" - He got one Super Bowl which happen to be the last 49er SB trophy.

"He could be the next Aaron Rodgers" - One Super Bowl in 8 years. Great googly moogly.

Or we could keep Brady until he's done because I know he knows how to win a Super Bowl.

While you might be able to postpone the decision for a year - and that is no small thing - ultimately you have to decide if Brady can continue to play and go from there. Waiting to trade until next year after we franchise him puts us in a must trade spot - not going to pay Brady and a franchised JG. And teams will know that.

I hope JG ends up in SF, I think that the coaching there will be suitable for his game. I have no idea what the Browns want to run as an offense. I don't know much about Chicago except that they are most likely losing there #1 WR.

Sure, teams would know Pats need to trade Garoppolo if they keep him another year.

That doesn't mean they will let him go cheap to another team if they think he will solve their QB problems.
