Don't like Watt at all because I honestly think that he skates a bit on his family name. Also any mock that contains Mixon for the Pats is just a waste of a pick. Even at #239.

I don't like using a 12 on a OT. Not with how deep the draft is at other positions.

That being said I agree that it is about time for us to groom another tackle to have insurance for Solder. But since it doesn't have to be a day 1 starter I am not sure it needs to be so early.

Great job on this. I would be so happy if the pats got Lawson, Adams, awuzie, beckwith, hall and Forman.

I am a huge fan of hall, I know teams paid a lot of attention to Myles, but this guy popped on tape for every Texas a&m game I watched.

Here is the first real mock I have done in a while without a silly mock simulator

This will involve no JG trade. And I will go pretty in depth with my reasoning. This is my guess of what they do.

#32 - Trade Down - The Pats tend to do 3 things. #1 Pick a injured but top rated player (no one around like that). #2 See if anyone who is clear value for them falls (doubt that happens as there are few people who should clearly not be at #32 this year. #3 Trade down. So I'll go with that. #37 and a 4th.

#37 - Demarcus Walker - DE - going LB first is very possible but the talent is too good to pass up here in another big need spot.

#64 - Desmond King - CB - Just take your pick. A good CB is going to fall. Great spot to get him. King probably fits BB's system better than most and can do the Harmon or slot role really well as well as play outside.

#96 - Carlos Henderson - WR - WR is a sneaky need with Edelman/Amendola getting old. This guy would fit BB's scheme well as a do it all WR who would specialize in short space.

#102 Ben Boulware - ILB - Since getting a highly talented ILB didn't work out the Pats should go for this kind of a guy. He is known for being a run stopper but he plays with a lot of fire and instinct. I think his game is more all around than he is given credit for. Also the knock of being a so-so athlete is unfair. My favorite thing about him is I think he sees the game really well and can get up to speed with the NFL mentally.

4th (trade) - Mike Robert - TE - This is an interesting pick. Considered one of the best blockers in college at. 6'4 260lbs and he snagged 16 TDs 45 catches and 533 yards last year. So why not more hype? Cause he has drops and body catches too much. His speed and quickness though is really good for his size. This is a bet that you can fix his catching issues. At the least though he will be a good blocker and end zone threat.

4th - Samaji Perine - RB - Power, quickness, speed and balance. He can get low and win or beat you with his stutter step. Quickly becoming one of my favorite RBs. The only thing he can't do well is catch but that is not what we need from a RB right now.

Going to have another draft again as so much has changed and new players have started to come and look good and dropped others, and i am going to trade Jimmy for the reason i think there is a very good QB with a few years of BB coaching he may be exactly the same.

I have traded Jimmy to the browns.. Surprise Surprise! We have got the Browns #12 and there first pick in the second round and just for the sake of it im chucking in a 7th.

This pick will depend if Hightower will resign if he does then we go and get Malik Hooker.. He could be a game changer for us with our D, that could give us TWO Defensive leaders that are young. With High and Hooker! i like the sound of that combo already..

If Hightower leaves we go get Foster. If both are taken we trade down.




#32- Another Annoying Pick..

I have seen recent mocks with us getting Howard.. in all honesty i don't want him and i can't see him falling this far;

I think we go edge here and get us a little partner for Trey as i would love to see some more edge pressure and the amount of looks i could see BB and Patrica come up with should worry people.

Tim Williams, guy is a freak and even though he has some issues, i think BB will sort him out.

Malik McDowell. I haven't done to much scouting of him, but i like his size and weight combo and think he could be a good partner.. Feel free all to have input at this pick was thinking of Macffey but thought the D is too good this year

He is my Favourite running back of this draft that we can set our sights on. Guy is a freak for his size and power.

I think he has the highest ceiling of all the QB's in this draft. Think if we can give him some time in the system, we could be looking at another Jimmy G.. I like him

Well CB is just such good value in this draft particularly the first 2 rounds it would be a real pity to pass on them. I also am not sold on Cyrus Jones. If he had shown anything last year maybe I could be talked into it but CB is just so important. Also I like the King pick at this spot cause he can play Harmon's spot too so he fits 2 needs in one. While I would like a LB I feel like if they don't take one at 32 (or after a minor trade down) no one will be there at 64 who they really want.

The LBs I want are Jarrad Davis of Hasson Reddick. I don't think either falls to 64. If either does maybe I'd change my mind but right now I don't see it and I think the Pats could do well just getting LBs that tackle well if they improve the pass rush and DBs. It just illustrate another direction they could go in on defense which is more run stopping LB and pass rusher centric with good coverage. They could easily go a LB first.

I like Lengel okay but Mike Roberts would be a huge upgrade and unlike Lengel he does offer a legit pass catching threat down near the goal line. His ceiling is very high and his floor is pretty good too. He is already better than Lengel. If he can learn to catch more reliably he will be a total beast. Yes he has some issues but when your biggest knock is you can't catch and you get 45 receptions for 530 yards (same as Jake Butt) it makes one wonder if this is an issue for him what will it look like if it was just partly fixed.

I was going to put Budda Baker here (again) and I do prefer him to Melifonwu. But, I gave Melifonwu the edge for a couple of reasons. BB likes rare players in the first round and Melifonwu certainly fits that description. And secondly, I just envisaged Melifonwu offering some versatility as a Brandon Browner type CB against the right receivers. That would certainly offer some versatility for our defense.

Here comes the over-reaction. Great numbers from him today and having watched his tape, I'm very happy to have him as a Sheard replacement and future Nink replacement. He's an ideal LDE that can also be used as a SAM.

According to CBS, Chris Godwin is available at this point. If this was draft day, I'd be all over that pick but I really don't think he'll be there in the late 3rd come draft day. I like Stewart as a potential Patriot. Has the quickness and YAC that BB likes. Also features heavily in 'trick' plays like WR passes, reverses and screens.

An almost exact match for Chandler Jones in terms of size and athleticism. Can fill in at RDE when Flowers shifts inside.

164. Mack Hollins, WR, N Carolina

Binky. Special teams specialist and an excellent character. Could even offer deep threat ability as a WR. What's not to like?

185. Jonnu Smith, TE, Florida Atlantic

Could easily have been George Kittle here and if you want to imagine him in this spot, that's fine by me. I chose Smith to highlight that, in terms of the athleticism metric SPARQ, Smith was actually the most athletic TE measured yesterday which is quite the achievement considering the company on field Saturday. But, as I said, by all means slot Kittle here if you prefer.

Lance Zierlein gave him a Grady Jarrett comp and most of you know how I felt about him. I was very impressed by Jones' athleticism today and he certainly has the weight and low centre of gravity to be a NT for us and I wouldn't put 'big 3T' past him as a possibility too.

I couldn't fit in a CB too which I would have liked. Still, there's still FA.

Henderson had a bad 3-cone which is why I ruled him out. I gave Roberts serious thought but he's just a little bit too slow. I wouldn't object at all though if he was the pick.
