Hightower will not be given the tag, now a free agent

How do you know what they will give him?

I don't but I think your over estimating on his market value. ILB don't make nearly as much OLB do.

Hightower is BB kinda guy he can do a little bit of everything but he isn't worth 14m a year. If he was always healthy and never missed games that would greatly help his cause for top dollar. But he is always dinged up.

Again, the cap is constantly increasing. 14m is a lot but not crazy money anymore.
Von Miller got 19 mill a year with 70 mill guaranteed in the first 3.
Hightower is a better football player.

Why do you think teams will look at him as an ILB?
He is a prototypical 34 OLB, and would be a total beast playing that position.
He doesn't play it here only because he is so good at other things that BB uses him in a unique role.

And he'd get 21-23m this offseason given how many teams have some cap space and the relative lack of marquee FAs.

What about that linebacker from GB? Nick Perry.

Jamie Collins got 12.5 a year. Expecting him to get significantly more than the guy the same team dumped for a 3rd round pick is not over estimating.

For a second there I thought you were talking about the Colts player arrested for golfcartjacking yesterday. :D:D:D

Seriously, God Bless the Colts.

I don't know. I think that contract was almost extortion. If Denver didn't make an offer, he wasn't getting close to that from anyone else.
Its over 6 mill a year higher than the next highest paid LB, and it isn't phony money because the guarantee is sick.

That's why I put Hightower in between Miller and Collins. Much better than Collins, but Millers contract was foolish.
5 years 78 mill 40 guaranteed.

Eric freaking Berry just got 6/78

Why are you people disliking and disagreeing with those of us that are putting the team before the player?

What, you think disliking what we're saying is going to make High stay?

**** doesn't work that way. He seems to be gone. If he stays, great. If he leaves, we will be fine. Most cap space we've had in forever and no real competition on the horizon?

See ya High, no hard feelings homie.

Yep, Hightower is as good as gone. Hopefully, we can somehow Draft Reuben Foster!

I do believe sir that the off season *****fest has officially begun. ;):(:D

Well, it has been almost a month since they finished off a 17-2 season with the greatest comeback in SB history. They haven't done anything lately. :)

I cannot see anything above 14 million but we will see. Hightower can do alot of things but he's not a consistent pass rusher as a LB. He's not gonna get double digit sacks.
He isn't a consistent pass rusher because BB doesn't put him in that role. When he rushes he is a beast.
Make him a 34 OLB in Pitt or GB system and he will get 15 sacks. Easy.

The open market will not deduct for a few minor injuries that are not chronic. History proves this.

How can he be a free agent? Free agency hasn't started. Misleading title.
