It' pre-combine silly season and all but Toledo TE Michael Roberts (he of the 11" hands), just reported he ran a 6.81 3-cone. Not bad for 260lbs.

Nice. Brought him up yesterday.

Does anyone have any opinion on Mack Hollins of UNC. 6'4", 220lbs and is expected to run in the 4.4s. But here's what intrigues me. He was a special teams captain in his freshman year and has been the ST captain all four years at UNC.

The tape I've watched suggests he's a bit of a deep threat only with his speed, but he does run some sharp cuts considering his size and although he can hands catch, tends to bucket catch a bit too much for my liking on deep balls. He's probably a day three guy only which is fine, I don't envisage us taking a WR before day 3 anyway, BUT, his special teams experience does interest me as a Pats pick.





Finally, I have a rough and ready way of judging arm length from photos. I reckon Hollins has 33"-34" arms. He ticks a lot of boxes just in terms of size and athleticism.

He has plus character too and doing some research into him, his teammates and NC fans absolutely love him.

Haven't watched him yet. Will try to do so today. And no need to apologise, everyone is welcome aboard the Mack Hollins bandwagon . Might not make it as a WR but bis special teams accomplishments and his character make him an interesting day 3 prospect for the Pats.

From limited tape, pretty good. He's big and long - just latches on to a DB and is tough to get away from.

Mack Hollins isn't afraid to get down and dirty with people. As a two time special teams captain for UNC, he may have been the best kickoff and punt gunner in the country. He used his great speed to close in on the returners, and then walloped them before they could take off. This physicality and competitiveness is apparent when he's at receiver too. When run blocking, he overwhelms smaller DBs with his tall frame. He fits defenders with great hand placement and turns them with ease. Hollins was asked to block on the WR screens that UNC ran frequently, and he once again was the unsung hero that sprung long runs from the screens.

I am all in on this guy.

I'm starting to hone in on Elijah McGuire as my preferred third down back in this draft, given the draft capital he'd require. Projected 5th rounder, but most likely due to his level of competition. He isn't the biggest (5094 #212), but he has experience both pass blocking and run blocking. He often acts as a lead blocker for the QB, and takes on linebackers with pretty good success. Surprising power for his frame. Keeps his feet churning when he runs into contact. Good hands, often utilized out of the backfield. Very shifty, nimble runner, but doesn't waste a lot of time dancing back and forth between holes; makes a defender miss, and gets upfield. Not a superstar, but looks very similar to White or Vereen, but with a bit more power to his game.

He has over 130 career receptions for about 1400 yards and 10 touchdowns. His fumble rates are also pretty good: 168.0. 2017 NFL Draft: Which running backs raise red flags as potential fumblers?

I like the player, but there are safeties bigger than he is who probably offer more coverage experience. Tough to slot him in as a true linebacker for us.

Rayshawn Jenkins is someone I've kept an eye on recently. Huge hitter. Bit of a headhunter, and will need to learn to not lead with his helmet. 6'2 #220 old school safety. Looks like an ideal understudy for Chung. I expect him to test better than anticipated, and I wouldn't be surprised if he dips under 4.5.

Alvin Kamara is an all-around very good RB. Doesn't really possess one elite trait but does most things well. Good speed/burst, shifty/elusive, can run north & to the edges, can block, and can catch/play the slot. He's also right at near typical size (5'10" 215) of a Pats lead RB. I wish he was a round 2 guy. Would be a great lead piece to BB's RBBC approach.

He's a bad fumbler though. I fumble every 70 touches or so. By comparison, McCaffrey is about 1 every 240 touches.

Yp i read about him yesterday, ppl are hyping on him that he is like Chris Harris. I asked if he is better than Jourdan Lewis here on forum.
Some draftnik report

Corn Elder: Miami
Strengths: Really quick guy all around, amazing in shallow zone coverage baiting deeper routes Fantastic at mirroring a route in man with his agility and acceleration. Extremely physical for a guy his size, loves to tackle, can lay big hits, got sent on a LOT of blitzes.
Weaknesses: Bad at press, when trying to get physical on the line, he would get burned almost every time. Doesnt seem to trust his speed in off zone coverage either, always ends up running deeper than the receiver and then gets burnt by an out or a comeback. Finally, Draftbreakdown has him listed at 5’10, but he is probably closer to 5’8 or 5’9, he really looked like the shortest guy on the field at all times
Draft Grade: Mid-2. He is going to be limited by his height and speed to probably never be able to be an effective outside guy in the NFL, but if a team needs a slot specialist, this guy will be a steal when they get him.
