Must be the one he just made up
I saw a tweet from Jeff Howe I believe that mentioned Amendola as a name to watch in regards to retirement

With that in mind, I think White's number was called because of the recent fumbles that Lewis experienced in the divisional round. If Lewis doesn't fumble in the Houston game, I think it is Lewis that gets the bulk of the work in the Super Bowl comeback. What do you think?
Am I overthinking it? Is James White clearly that much better of a receiver and pass rusher?
What will be interesting is what they decide to do w/ DJ Foster.
If the rumors are true w/ Amendola retirement could we see DJ Foster become a slot replacement?
What Amendola retirement rumors?
Link?
I just googled it and nothing came up.
What rumors?

Do you have a link to the Amendola speculation?

I found it. Apologies accepted!!
Lewis is shifter and can be the best runner of all our backs when healthy (early 2015).Lewis is the better player because more shifty and would have been on the field substantially more if he didn't pull his hamstring already early in the game. It has been reported multiple times that the TD to win the game in OT was originally drawn up with Lewis in mind.

White has grown a lot as a player. What he lacks as a runner is made up for with his skills as a receiver and pass protector. He is durable and has the best ball security of the three guys.
Lewis still needs to get some of his mojo and explosiveness back and stay healthy. If I had to bet on which player is more likely to be here for the long term it'd be White.
I haven't heard that rumor but I doubt it, I think if they wanted him to be a slot receiver he would have at least been working with the WRers during the year a bitWhat will be interesting is what they decide to do w/ DJ Foster.

I think it will. That's typical with ACL recoveries in their first year back. Hopefully he returns to his 2015 self because, when healthy, he brings a dynamic and a gear to the open field that White simply doesn't have.Lewis wasn't nearly as explosive this year it seemed to me. Hopefully a full off season will help him regain some of that.
2015 Dion was one of the most explosive players to ever put on a Patriots uniform. He was on pace for 85+ receptions and 900+ yards before getting injured in the Redskins game. On top of that he had 4.8 ypc behind a weak OL.
White has developed into a very good player. If Lewis can't regain his prior form White will get most of the work. If he does White will still be used to keep him fresh.
Lewis provides more visual effect
I'll take White.....I said this last year also
White is ahead of where Vereen was 3 years in
Regardless, the Pats will be drafting a 3rd down back this year
don't be surprised to see Lewis be a cap hit......he has proven to be unreliable
