It all feels very sweet and sereen right now doesn't it?

Spot on.

There's no more mountains to climb (well, of course there's ALWAYS more, but relatively speaking). BB/Brady are the GOAT. They have the most rings. Discussion over.

Now we're playing with house money and just adding cherries on top as the majority of the media recognizes as us as goats, the majority of our best players under contract and tons of salary cap room and a great looking backup QB who is either the future or a ransom of draft picks.

This is amazing. I'm more excited than ever for this off-season, it's all on the up-and-up.

Was walking around downtown Melbourne this evening wearing my Brady jersey when I got flipped off by a dude wearing a 'city of angels' t-shirt who very emphatically told me "f*** brady". My response? I burst out laughing, which only seemed to add to the poor fella chagrin.

At first, I thought he was a junkie hobo, but then I realized he was probably just a standard jets fan

I don't know what it is but i just have this calmness and zen all over that's hard to explain.
  • There is no BS controversy surrounding the Pats after a SB for once
  • Everyone in the media including the haters are in unison calling Tom the GOAT
  • We all feel incredibly safe that we'll look very good regardless of who we lose/gain in FA
  • The draft will be pure joy because remarkably the Pats can actually get even better in key positions.
And to top it off i honestly don't feel the need to gloat, argue or prove any point to anyone about anything regarding the Patriots. Probably because all the evidence and glory of any potential debate is out there, which doesn't require me to chime in anymore.

I thought after the Seahawks SB that everything would be tonnes more enjoyable and exciting but this is a whole new level and it's simply:

Does anyone else have even a little feeling of "is this all that there is? type thing? LOL

Only sort of kidding. I have re-watched and re-watched at it's only one week. Don't get me wrong I totally get the zen thing, the no doubt Brady is the greatest, the team's record is remarkable. (Even one of our "off years" we went 16-0, 14-2, 13-3, 12-4 and like 4 times LOL)

But there is part me that is like, its more like a sadness (win or lose the SB) that there is no football for a while. And I go to other boards, and the reasonable teams are talking about their chances next year already. etc

I really enjoy being SB Champs. I can't imagine what my mood would be now had we lost. The losses stick with me until TC usually.
Thing is, i still would have been cool with the loss, because that number 4 kind of shut most people up (despite deflategate) but i don't know man there is just something quite surreal about this one. It's a great and unique feeling and that's all i know.

I have no problem summing up why I feel 'sweet and serene': I've seen the bad guys win all too often in my life (as I'm sure anyone reading this has) and it's been a major downer. To see the symbolic good guys of my personal choice not only win the day, but do it in a fashion that transcends* my wildest dreams, is very enheartening and faith-restoring and affects me on a very deep level.

Here it is a week later and I still stop to think, "Damned if they didn't actually go and do it!!!!" with hair standing on end

*hence the surreality

My feeling really has nothing to do with the public. I just hate when the Patriots lose Super Bowls, whether it would have been 3, 4, 5 or whatever. I want them to win each time they make it and I take every loss hard... probably too hard considering it's just a sport and I'm not on the team. With that said, I completely agree that this one was surreal and it is my favorite one, which finally replaces 2001 on my personal rankings - 2016 (cried), 2001 (so excited), 2014 (relieved and joyous), 2003 (shed a quick tear), 2004 (satisfied).

I'd like to think it's at least partly because he knows he's now, in terms of accomplishments, standing on Mt. Olympus with those other great men he's so openly and frequently admired.
Absolutely!

Been seeing that a lot. Nothing left to say so all they have is "it is all fixed" and I am like... really? That is all you have left? When that is all you have to fall back on you know it is bad.
And it just makes it all the sweeter. It's so unbelievable what Brady/the Pats accomplished that someone has to resort to "rigged"? Well that's just a complement in reality.

I feel you dude, i'm STILL not over '07. That chance at perfection gone because of that flukey Manning brother. Oh well the 2 more SB trophies after that night will just 'have to do'

Ugh, it's sickening. I'll admit that last Sunday went a long way in reducing it for me. Yeah, it still would be awesome, but I think it's achievable at least, as we've seen teams come really close. However, five by one QB is going to be very very hard, if not impossible for someone else. I think that what happened a week ago has far more historical significance.

the best part for me is there are no game day threads for 7 months

But where will I get all the hot take analysis about wanting see more from "insert player's name here" and how the seasons over after the first incompletion on offense?
