Are you "almost" glad now that deflategate happened?

It will definitely make the Tom Brady movie that much more compelling.

Hell no. But I disagree with the notion that his legacy is "permanently damaged, stained" etc.

That garbage will fade over time just like everything else. Joe Montana admitted his teams cheated and no one cares. Know why? They've been out of the spotlight for years.

Once Tom and Bill are gone the media will find another successful team to use to fuel agenda-driven nonsense. I've never bothered to defend my team to haters and never will. **** them all. I'm way too busy basking in the win and the media love for TB12. Everyone else can kiss me between the back pockets.

Yup. Figured you all were going to take it in the literal sense. Real deep you all are.
As someone who is obviously not "real deep," could you please enlighten me on how I was supposed to "take it?" Your words were pretty clear, so I'm kind of at a loss, but open to being shown where I might have missed something.

I don't care, I can't stand it

"It'd've been worth'm doing it, just so I could've caught'm."

The DG debacle at minimum probably cost TB tens of millions in endorsement money. It also hurt the Pats brand permanently. I consider it the biggest farce in sports history and Roger the biggest fraud in sports history.

There is no silver lining in any of it. To me it is more painful than the loss in 2007 because TB diddn't deserve it (even if he was caught red handed deflating balls) as it was a minor equipment violation. What is worse, idiots all over the globe can makde ball deflation jokes forever - with most of them just being very casual fans who have zero knowledge of what happened.

Wait now you think tom Brady is happy he had to have his reputation trashed and deal with everything he went through because it made the win better? Thee is less than zero chance of that.
No...? Do you write for the Enquirer? TMZ? You're good at twisting words for certain.

I respect you and all, but man I've tried arguing with you before and it's like walking in an endless circle sometimes.

Well, you should try having a good argument, then you wouldn't have to go in circles.

Please explain what in the world you are trying to say if everyone misunderstands y0u.

It seems you feel it made the win better because of Deflategate, so you are glad it happened, and that Brady tried a little harder and enjoyed it a little more thanks to being railroaded for something he didn't do, and dragged through the mud for 2 years.

I get the impression most of you looked at the thread title, picked out a few words, and decided this was the "throw tomato cans at the OP" thread. I make it clear that no reasonable Patriot fan can ever bring themselves to be glad that it all happened.

It's sheep of the herd mentality.

what in the actual *****

A good and decent man had a cheater label thrust upon him, with no reason to expect even the slightest recantation by his accusers, so no. I am only elated that TB transcended those worms.

: If the NFL fails or loses significant popularity, I won't be upset.

It would be doubly sweet as it would leave the Pats as the last franchise to be great when it still mattered. Salt that wound

At Quora.com, I see people trolling questions like: "Are you glad WWII made America great?" I do there what I nearly did here: click Downvote.

You're being ridiculous.

Did I not say almost? I never said I'm glad it happened, because damage was done.

What I can't follow here is how I'm lumping this as "Brady tried a little harder" because of it When did I say this? Enlighten me.

It did not make the journey sweeter as you indicated.

It was not part of the journey - as you indicated in any type of rewarding way where a win just mitigated it..
It was a disgrace perpetrated by a stupid, corrupt, puppet who works for jealous, petty, egotistical, babies.

Yeah....NO!!!!

DG effectively ended my rooting interest in the NFL, something that used to be a big part of my life. I will always hate the suits in the FO of the NYFL and the 32 greedy scumbag owners for it.

It would be like being "almost glad" you became a quadriplegic diving headfirst into the kitty pool because you got a sweet electric wheelchair out of the deal.

Now mind you, we all know how horrible all of this BS has been over the last two years. But man... Winning this 5th after all Brady, the Patriots, and this fanbase has been through just makes this so much sweeter.

It's like this win took care of everything. It's even feeling like Brady just won back the majority of the court of public opinion, something we thought would be impossible.

The whole deflategate saga was a nightmare at times that seemed to get nothing but worse and worse. Now mind you again I say almost, because none of it should have ever happened. But now it just feels like it was part of the journey.

No but i see what you are saying and it is an interesting point. If you feel that way I understand.

being ridiculous? You start a thread saying you are 'almost' happy that Brady was incorrectly charged with and convicted of being a cheater and a lair, and then say you didn't mean it wasn't a horrific disgrace because you said almost?
You said:

You said:

I don't think Brady was more motivated neccesarily, and I KNOW that that was far from number one thing on his mind, considering what him and his family has been going through.

You can be happy to watch a guy who completely railroaded you have to hand you that trophy, and yet not have that be your driving motivation at the same time

Again, if you don't think the need to add 'necessarily' implies that maybe he was, or that 'almost' turns your statement of being glad it happened into you consider it a vile disgusting thing, but oh well it made me happier, then you need some remedial English classes.

Your comments here are kind of like saying someone's wife got raped, but they got through it and ended up happy, so are they almost happy she was raped.
