It's Time For a Complete Performance By Brady

Ian Logue

Tom Brady has won four championships, but it's time for him to go out and leave no doubt against the Falcons on Sunday night.

Was thinking about this over the last couple of days until I finally had time to go through the numbers last night into this morning. Anyone else hoping that Tom Brady finally goes out and makes sure this game is never in question? I know I'd like to finally have a game where I'm not sweating in the final minutes.

I hear you there. Certainly, against a defense like Atlanta's, I would hope he comes out "guns blazing." Much of this is on the game-planning, though, and whether Belichick and McDaniels go all-out versus being more conservative. I'd say, with all the rings they've already got, and having just won two years ago, they'll play fast and loose this year.

His first quarter stats are based on the fact that he has played really good defenses in all those SB's and it took a while to figure out what they were doing. I think Atlanta has the worst defense out of all the other six times. Maybe that will allow him to score some points in the first quarter today. If I am wrong, then someone please let look me know. I didn't look it up.

Its amazing that people want brady to do something more than what he has done so far. He can throw for 120 yds for all I care as long as we win.

Any outcome with the Pats having more points than the Falcons is fine by me. Get that W and eff the style points.

I agree. That 4th quarter in 2014 was something to behold and at which to marvel. But he has not played a COMPLETE game since 2014. But that is also the last SB where NE's offense was truly balanced. Although it was tough sledding for Dillon, they still had to respect him. I don't feel that was true in 2007, 2011 or 2014. Teams game planned to go after Brady with no real commitment to anything else defensively. If Blount gets a few good ones early, I think it makes ATL think twice about pinning the ears back.

I think this team has put a lot on its shoulders, but they've proven more than not that they can handle it. They know what's at stake. They know history can be made tonight. And unlike 2007, there hasn't been months of build-up. There were people picking against them right up to the AFCCG. They know what's up and they'll be ready. If they lose, it will truly be because they were simply outplayed and nothing else.

Brady has done more with less. Think about the first 3 superbowls and who he was throwing to. Guys like givens and branch who aren't exactly hall of famers. The guy has never had big wrs accept that one year with moss.

Looking back at the second superbowl against the giants that team was awful on defense and the offense was very gimpy.

I'd be happy with a ball control game and an efficient Tom...doesn't have to be anything great, let's get the win and talk later

I'll settle for him not throwing any bone-headed, over-aggressive at the goalline, INTs.

Oh, and no intentional grounding. Whatever that is these days...

day off for the bullpen?

This is key to me.
In the past, in my memory every big game the struggled (and many they didn't too) we got very conservative on offense and more so very conservative in the passing game. When we are playing it safe "staying on schedule" we are easier to stop just by a misstep on 3rd and 2 a penalty or something like that.
I feel like the coaching staff has figured that out and we see a lot more aggressive down the field chunk plays. When all is running right we hit crossing patterns for 20+ on 2nd and 8 or things such as that.
If we are in 3rd and short all day we can still do well but watch for the drives with 3 passes in a row taking us from the -30 to the red zone.

Yeah cuz we have such a mistake prone liability at QB

I think that would be the worst way to go.
