I know most Pats fans would love it, but Felger isn't going anywhere. Like it or not, he is the current king of sports media in Boston.

I wouldn't mind replacing Tony Mazz with Mike Holley though. That would be an excellent afternoon drive pair.

I dont know much about the other WEEI guys, as I stopped listening to their shows once 98.5 lunched. I actually think I may have made the first 98.5 post on this site, that's how excited I was for The Big Show's demise. lol

He legit just echos whatever Felger says, but in a whiner/angrier tone. Never offers a unique take and if he ever has a thought that differs from Felger, he'll back down right away about. It's actually pathetic.

Felger paired with someone who actually would debate with him a bit would be entertaining.

Tony Mazz 100% needs to go.

He legit just echos whatever Felger says, but in a whiner/angrier tone. Never offers a unique take and if he ever has a thought that differs from Felger, he'll back down right away about. It's actually pathetic.

Felger paired with someone who actually would debate with him a bit would be entertaining.

It would be interesting and refreshing to have someone host with Felger and actually butt heads once in a while. Mazz has different takes at times but not by much.

Would be nice to have Mazz or someone else occasionally combat his POV's. It's kind of boring when they all agree on an issue such as deflate gate.

Felger and Holley IMO, would be the perfect balance. Holley has the football IQ to go toe to toe with him, and it would increase the quality of the show 10 fold.

I just dont think Mazz trusts his own football knowledge to challenge Felger (just as Felger couldnt challenge Tony's baseball). I love Big Jim, but he needs to take a page out of the Beetle playbook and have more conviction in his takes. He suffers from that awful hipster trait of avoiding any real conflict.

This might be the end of Ordway, Arnold and a few of the old codgers... what will happen if guys like Minihane have to work for a living??? That would be a shocking experience..

I admit ....I like Dale Arnold. He a little boring but he stays above the fray. I like Holley too.

Mike Holley is vanilla ice cream. Hasn't had a hot take in years although he would drive Felger crazy because with every observation Felger would make on every mundane topic i.e. "this coffee is good" or "the sky is so blue today", Mike Holley would disagree and you'd get 4 hours of .... "No I don't think so, I've had better coffee than that" and 'I don't agree, I thought the sky was much more blue yesterday than today". THAT is Mike Holley. I'm amazed Dale hasn't shouted "just shut the fu%# up" to Holley on the air. Can't listen to him drone on without EVER saying anything.

Given the whole goal of the exercise is to increase profits and reduce costs, why have two different stations doing the same thing? Seems likely there will be just one station left standing after it all. Maybe they need a 2nd signal for winter nights where hockey and bball overlap?

I suppose the only reason to keep two stations would be to prevent a new third party from emerging, but the question is, would a third party invest in the market where they can't get any rights for any of the four major sports?
