We know God is a Pats fan, so when Jesus returns, do you think it is unreasonable for him to smite the hell out of the NFL* front office first, before he gets down to the real business at hand?

I'd love seeing Goodell getting a holy wedgie as part of the process.

I think the biggest difference is Sox/Yanks was always about at least initially how the yankees just bought titles by buying up the best talent, while the sox had a decent farm system mixed with okay contracts.

This is an entirely different beast where a team is restricted to a salary cap, constantly has picks taken away, and is in a league where there is a pretty hard push for "parity" and they keep winning.

the only excuse they can come up with is cheating. They blindly ignore ****ty owners, ****ty coaching, ****ty systems.

The only reason the pats win is because they cheat. They don't know how. they dont know when. but if they throw enough **** around their bound to "hit" on something. thus deflategate/spygate/backpackgate/weathergate/gatoradegate/headsetgate/firealarmgate/spottedthoseassholesadayandahalfgate

I agree comparing Yankees/MLB to Patriots/NFL is apples to oranges except as examples of drawing jealous resentment for success.

As for the "cheating"? As Goebbels said, "Repeat a lie long enough and it becomes the truth."

Add the jealousy factor and then you get a "wanting to believe=easy to deceive" situation.

Don't underestimate the tinfoil hat brigade. Brady is originally from the SF area. Pretty soon we'll hear about how this SF reporter had lunch last week two booths down from a barber who once cut the hair of Tom Brady Sr's formally estranged mother in law. TOM BRADY'S DAD STOLE THE PLAYBOOK FOR HIM!
Somebody call Ted. I hear his billable hours need a boost.

I really thought they were better than this (silly me), but Falcons fans are eating this **** up. Not all of them, but even the ones downplaying this are doing so under the logic that nothing important would be on paper in this day and age...not that, you know, it's stupid to think the Patriots tried anything in the first place.

Unless video surfaces of a Patriots employee taking the backpack into a bathroom, things should be OK.

Not so fast. Ted Well could find a text message from a Patriots employee from last May referring to a "backpack" and another text message from October referring to "Atlanta" and construct a conspiracy theory out of it. The media and fans from the other 31 would eat it up and Goodell could rob us of another first rounder while reciting "integrity" a thousand times.

Without the Dorito Dink you don't have the smoking gun or the missing link....

The **** people are willing to believe is astounding. But look at the brightside in 7-10 years we will get to listen to a but hurt ex-Falcon(s) on the NFL say things like "it was almost like they knew what we were gonna do". Yeah Mr Falcon that is what happens when you do the same **** over and over week after week.

I hear the reporter's name is Jim NcMally

Watch it, bub. I ain't do shiiit

Okay Kyle, think carefully, are we missing any pages ??

So is Atlanta keeping their game plan old school on paper, instead of a password protected tablet?

Eh, I'm not as worried about it becoming a big story as you may be. I doubt many will link a reporter of a SF newspaper to someone who will want to help the Patriots.

Now...if it were a Boston reporter, then it'd likely be a big story. In the meantime, it sounds as if they contacted the guy, he realized his mistake and brought it right back within a half hour. I'd have to guess that there's a good chance that he never even left the facility during that time, anyway.

If you're going to steal someone's gameplan, you're not going to use a hometown reporter. You're going to use someone from an NFL city as far away as it can be.

I'm not sure what the suggestion is here, @upstater1? Would it have been better if it were a local paper? Do you believe that it was intentional?

But how did BB know the game plan was in the backpack? Drones?

He can project himself back to past times, just like that creepy kid on Game Of Thrones.
