It really is incredible. Because what will happen is that eventually this will become part of the "Patriots cheat" lore. We still have TONS of people believing that the Patriots taped Rams' practices, and that the Patriots screwed with the Steelers' headsets on opening day last year. It goes into the "Patriots cheat" bank and it just reinforces this view that a lot of people have about them.

I know it shouldn't bother us, but my god it's just infuriating.

Hear, hear! It's also turning the sport into a joke.

The Patriots broke the game by playing on a higher level than the competition. Since HOF coaches and QB's don't grow on trees, I guess the rest of the league gave up on trying to compete and thought that by pushing the "cheating" canard it would keep all the non-Patriots fans engaged by giving them something to cheer against. As the sport is looking more and more like professional wrestling and ratings are down, I question whether this was the wise way to go.

If the defense kicks ass on Sunday, how long before the media digs this one up as the reason? Considering how they were all blindly willing to accept someone deflating a dozen footballs in 30 seconds, no doubt the media will accept someone could have swiped the backpack and photocopied the entire game plan in a half hour.

Plus what a ****ty ****ing article. I hate The Score.

I'm sure Goody is going to call in BB and Ernie for a "talk" the day before the game...

Seriously though, who brings the game plan to media day and leaves it in a backpack? I mean really...I kind of wish it did get leaked by the reporter who found it as punishment for being so stupid. Good luck San Fran.

I kind of understand the sentiment of being vexed by the dominance of a sports team from all those years of the Sox-Yanks rivalry but I've never seen it this out of hand before.

I think the biggest difference is Sox/Yanks was always about at least initially how the yankees just bought titles by buying up the best talent, while the sox had a decent farm system mixed with okay contracts.

This is an entirely different beast where a team is restricted to a salary cap, constantly has picks taken away, and is in a league where there is a pretty hard push for "parity" and they keep winning.

the only excuse they can come up with is cheating. They blindly ignore ****ty owners, ****ty coaching, ****ty systems.

The only reason the pats win is because they cheat. They don't know how. they dont know when. but if they throw enough **** around their bound to "hit" on something. thus deflategate/spygate/backpackgate/weathergate/gatoradegate/headsetgate/firealarmgate/spottedthoseassholesadayandahalfgate

I got the inside scope from a friend who's brother-in-law once sat next to a Patriots scout in a bar in Topeka, KS. According to him......

last year at the scouting combine, the Patriots, secretly hypnotized Shanahan while he was having drinks with BB (the scout said the Pats hypnotized every OC from teams they might play in the SB). Shanahan worked this season as normal, but once he arrived in Houston........ BB told him where and when to put the game plan. Meanwhile, Spangler, who has been an Examiner writer since the beginning of time, first assignment as a cub reporter was to cover one of TBs high school football games and he thus became friends with TB's family. With Shanahan now the Niners new coach.........BB's devious plan all came together...........

I guess trying to create some controversy around the other teams preparation is what its called hummm...cheating? Try better next time Atlanta, that was premeditate and low, I guess they even realized how ridiculous that would be and rolled back the plan.
