I think people are overreacting to comments made in the stupidity of tonight's event. Hightower's comments about Collins are interspersed between him praising teammates and the like; it's no secret he and Collins were close, who cares?

Same for Bennett. So he said he loved it in NY, big deal. As far as him saying he wouldn't go to WH if they win, he probably isn't the only player thinking that. Was Brady showing the team disrespect when he bounced the trip in 2015?

Devin McCourty on why the Patriots are so hated - "Honestly I don't know, but I'm not gonna lie, I didn't like them at all in college."

^^^ is that disrespect too? It's just a dumb event and players take more loosely than normal.

DMac is under long term commitment. Rather different when he says something than an impending FA.

Personally I'd be much more scared if Hightower or Bennett were in surly moods or throwing darts at BB and co, instead of saying a few off-the-cuff things amid dozens of other quotable lines.

This team has a ton of cap space so they will make some smart moves. They have tbe draft as well. I like hightower but we have seen this move before. I hope he stays
though because he's likely the best LB we have now.

Hightower needs to understand that in the NFL lockerooms flip every year and your not gonna be able to hit the door everytime a favorite player of yours leaves or gets traded
Yeah I'm sure Hightower doesn't understand that about the NFL and maybe you can give him a call and explain how that works to him.

Who knows hopefully Hightower stays, if Bennett goes this years draft is deep at the TE position overall I say Butler is the most Important player to resign followed by Hightower

He's as good as gone. If he wasn't, he would have said what has always been said. Be interesting to see how he responds the next few days.

I'm not doubting his compete level next Sunday. I'm doubting him sticking around. I'm believing the only guy that will get signed long term is Butler. BB will find Hightowers replacement in FA or the draft.

Bennett is gone to. His comment about the Giants as well as not going to the WH if they win means he's gone. Funny how when the end nears, the more the ones who feel they are gone talk. That a good sign of cya later.

Just gonna mark those posts to remind you in a few weeks, that you are reading way too much into meaningless interviews.

Butler is a RFA. He is not going anywhere in the next two years which is why he is not a priority for this offseason. The Pats have him for cheap over the next two years (1st round tender + franchise) compared what other CBs of his skill make over the same amount of time.

Also you are undervaluing Bennett, as TE's are notoriously difficult to project when drafting.

The video of this is so great. It's like some 7-year old kid reporter. Brady gives him the stock answer about his dad being his hero, but then starts getting really emotional.

Warning: it might be a bit dusty in the room when you watch this.

Per the nfln ticker, Freeman eants to be the top paid rb in the league (supposedly a quote from tonight). Falcons gm responded to questions with "We are open to contract talks in the offseason."

Bulletin. Board. The moron keeps on giving.

If your team needs bulletin board material to motivate them in a SUPERBOWL game. Especially quotes as insignificant as Freeman's, they've already lost.

You speaking from the wealth of YOUR Super Bowl week experience there ,Buford?

Making a seperate thead from the SB practice thread to sort them out. Let the messiness begin! I'm just waiting for those TV Azeteca girls.

Some info on why "Media Day" turned to "Media Night":

2017 Super Bowl Opening Night: How to watch media day for Patriots and Falcons

I think the Pats handled it very intelligently...surprise, surprise. By putting the travel day and media day into one, they got the two biggest external drains on player time and energy out of the way at once. My understanding is that players generally aren't expected back in Foxboro until Wednesday after a game, unless they are rehabbing an injury (they might have meetings on Monday), so they turned it into as close to a normal week as possible and got all of Sunday in Foxboro for meetings and practice. Today is an off day, just like it always is.

I hate to give the League Office credit for anything, but I did enjoy being able to watch Brady and Belichick's interviews live and uncut, which I could never do when it was during the day.

You're new to this, aren't you?
