Mike Connors had a notable career beyond just Mannix. He had a prominent role in one of the most expensive and grandest mini series (that few watched). As the years past he became a "that guy" in numerous TV show and movie appearances. I'd also be remiss to not mention he provided for some excellent 'bad breath' wit/ribbing between drinking buddies.

Hurt played many many wonderful roles. One of my favorites was the lovable pragmatic Greek doctor in Captain Corellis Mandolin.

It's a hard movie to watch because the story is so painfully sad, but The Elephant Man with John Hurt and Anthony Hopkins is acting at its highest level.
