It's a hard movie to watch because the story is so painfully sad, but The Elephant Man with John Hurt and Anthony Hopkins is acting at its highest level.
Great actor.
From what I've read, the actors (other than the one who birthed it) didn't know it was coming so their reactions are true to life......I remember John for another movie that was also hard to watch... but in a slightly different way... image below...

IMDB says he was in Spaceballs but I don't remember him in it.
I never realized that Barbara Hale had movie roles starring along with Sinatra, Robert Young, Charlton Heston and Harry Morgan.......
