Lost in the discussion of Brady's INTs in the playoffs in the local media is that Brady has never thrown an INT against a Steeler defense under Tomlin. They have faced six time and no INTs and 19 TDs. Brady has the highest QB rating against Tomlin than any other head coach that he has faced three times or more.

Tom Brady has 19 touchdowns, 0 interceptions vs. Mike Tomlin

"Hey, Tomlin... you smug bastid...

...guess who!"

He's also 9-2 overall against the Steelers including 2 play-off wins in Pittsburgh (one with a bit of help from Bledsoe).

Which is why the whole media narrative of how the Patriots should fear the Steelers was always ****ing ridiculous. The Steelers should be petrified of playing Brady.

That's not to suggest we are going to win no matter what. There's a lot of scenarios where Pittsburgh could upset us. But I'm not going to spend days in fear over Big Fat Ben and the zone blitz that Brady routinely destroys and a joke of a head coach who spent half the week making excuses in case they lose instead of focusing on the game at hand.

I dont know how all that past stuff matters. I mean , manning couldnt beat BB forever but eventually did. Brady vs Crennel was equally impressive numbers until last week. Same with wade phillips until last yr.

no wonder theyre "sick" of seeing the patriots again

It means that Brady has had a lot of success against virtually the same defense the Steelers are currently running, only he has done it when they've had better talent.

Phillips had a lot more talent to work with than he's ever had, and he also had the fortune of playing against NE's practice squad.

Found Big Ben's playoff stats pretty interesting, especially the TD to INT ratio. It's likely even worse on the road.

I heard the same thing last year about Wade Phillips. Scoreboard is 0-0. Team needs to bring everything it has.

I dont think using wade philips and last year is a good example. 1. He had an all time defense 2. Brady had gronk and thats it

Steelers defense is probably less talented than when brady has faced them before. And is using the same scheme

Note that the Steelers pay less zone under Butler. I think LeBeau didn't evolve his approach with the game. Pitt blitzes a lot less and uses less stunts now. I expect them to see if they can get pressure with 4 DL and go from there.

Last year was an anomaly though. Brady was playing without an offensive line, a RB, and any healthy receivers. I don't think that was Wade Phillips figuring out how to shut down Brady. It was the Pats were so depleted on offense, that they made it easy for the Broncos to defend.

This year, other than the loss of Gronk, the offense is very healthy.

Over the last 8 games (the period over which many have claimed that their defense has been "hot") they've played a lot of zone and they've blitzed on 43% of their snaps. That's very similar to the **** Lebeau days.

They can't get consistent pressure with the front 4 - that's why they've started blitzing as much as they have.

Steelers defense not built to withstand onslaught from Tom Brady’s offense

Brady won’t have any issues recognizing the Steelers’ coverage plans before each snap because so little changes. This will be a stark contrast to the Chiefs, who stubbornly stuck with their gimmicky offense Sunday night and got very little, if any, checks at the line from quarterback Alex Smith.

One of the rare few in the Boston media this week saying this or anything close to this.
