Well that only helps the Pats assuming they win. Basically they have no chance to even start to scout till Monday.

Gives the our opponents in the AFCCG an almost short week. At this point I wonder if playing the Steelers who'd have to travel back from KC wouldn't almost be better just based on the additional rest/prep time we would have compared to them.

For people's safety lol

More like primetime ratings.

While that's an ancillary benefit, the NFL has not had a Sunday night playoff game in the WC or Divisional rounds for a long time, if ever.

I just hope we win on saturday and if so, kc/pitt play a 3 overtime game.

Felger is so full of ****.. he acting like getting an inch + of pure ice on the roads is no big deal. He would be the first guy to crash and keep on sliding.. "yeah your vehicle will cut right through the ice" I mean this guy lives in New England and is from Packer territory.. how can he be that stupid? Then again it is Felger.

I honestly think this is for public safety and not just because of Prime Time Sunday night.

I am in Portland Oregon this week. They received 4-6 inches of snow here three days ago while I was here and it is still almost a state of emergency. I am downtown and after 3 days they still have not plowed or shoveled. The snow has all compacted and compacted snow is ice. They were just on TV saying that people needed to keep a two week survival pack both at home and in their cars. Its nuts.

Ice storms are the worst. Nothing you can do about it and it brings down tons of trees and branches. I expect the airport will be closed in KC and there will be no way to even get to the airport after the game. KC will handle this better than Portland but the Steelers wont make it home till Monday afternoon when the temps will rise to the 50s. Might as well just give up on the idea of coming home Sunday. I think the Chiefs will win though.

I was expecting them to push this game to Monday. Then out of "fairness" push the AFCCG to Monday too.

4-6 inches of snow a state of emergency? They didn't plow? Even 4 inches of snow is dangerous if you don't plow it.

I doubt schools would close here in New England for just 6 inches of snow. In fact we got about 15" last weekend.

I had to snow blow 10 inches Sunday just to get to Logan to fly to Portland. I have seen two plow tricks in 3 days and neither had their blade down. They won't use salt on the roads. They say you have to use chains to be on the road. There are hundreds of abandoned cars on the road and since they don't plow, the cars that do drive just compact the snow into an inch of ice. School closed 4 days this week from it. The folks here are totally clueless about how to handle this. I am very surprised by this

Portland doesn't generally get a lot of snow. They're more a rain, rain, and rain some more all winter long kind of place.

You make a solid point while reminding us about Pittsburgh's (hypothetical) back-to-back road games, although I'm still unsure of who I'm going to be rooting for, hopefully given the chance to still give a damn, of course.

As many others have said, this development certainly doesn't hurt things. Hopefully, they beat the heck out of each other.

I've been surprised the NFL hasn't gotten rid of the 1PM playoff games completely for the playoffs. Given Monday is a holiday this game even more so. The east coast will stay up for it more than normal.

Triple OT would be nice.

Which team, in terms of personnel and scheme, is better fit to play in icy conditions?

some states close schools with just 2" of snow

I predict we will never see another 1:00pm start for an NFL playoff game.
The weather was a convenient excuse for the NFL to move a game into prime time that always should have been scheduled in prime time.
The NFL finally did something right.
