Andy Benoit:Jadeveon Clowney gives the Texans their only realistic chance of pulling off a win

Well the article, while a bit sensational, is correct. Clowney using Brady as a piñata is pretty much the only shot they have. Well, that and the Pats completely shooting themselves in the foot and playing their worst game of the season.
The patriots are so much better than Houston that they would easily be able to overcome any amount of sacks clowney could have.
And since he had 6 all year how many could that be any way?

One of my sports apps had an article about what Houston would need to do to win.

One was follow the Broncos defensive blueprint from the AFC Championship game.

Ok, I'm so far beyond tired of people saying a certain team laid out the blueprints for how to beat another, as if all teams have equal rosters and the ability to execute said blueprints.

So all Houston has to do is use their lockdown corners to smother the Pats WRs, and their DEs need to get to Brady within 1.5 seconds consistently. It's so simple.....

This, 100%. Denver's secondary was arguably better than their DL which is CRUCIAL to getting those pressures and sacks. Even when Brady had time it seemingly ended in a sack.

Clowney will have to really overrun our OL, which has neutralized more active front sevens, to compensate for a weaker secondary.

Brady getting an extra second above normal is absolutely dangerous. It makes so much more of a difference than other QB's given his outrageous release time. Clowney will get a hit maybe, but nothing that great.

"Adopt the blueprint of the 2015 Broncos". Kay lol, I'll also adopt the blueprint of the 2007 Patriots offense. And the Tampa 2002 secondary. And the 2000 Ravens LB core. Because apparently it's really easy to just adopt talent out of the blue.

Oh and everyone on coverage for ST suddenly becomes Slater.

Exactly. Clowney would have to match his output for the season and the Pats would have to completely fall flat on their face in order for them to have a shot. I can't remember a playoff game where I was so confident of a blowout.

Not even the Tebow game?

the Pats still need to take Clown-ey seriously

Wow clown eyes is going to be real busy Saturday night, since it's all on him.

I was very confident in 2010, that did not end well, but I doubt that's going to happen again. I doubt people would be saying that Clowney is the key to the Texans win if he hadn't had that cool pick.
