Jets Suck -- 2016 Edition (Official): Futility Confirmed

Good!

Wasn't Hackenberg chosen with the pick that should have gone to the Pats for the Rats tampering with Revis?

**** the Rats! Let them enjoy Hackenberg busting and Revis' contract and performance blowing up on their faces.

And **** that cheating Omissioner too!

If that is the case, then yes, you make a valid point!

I'm now rooting for the Jets to cut Hackenberg loose, for him to land on a QB needy team (Arizona, Cleveland, etc) and become a quality starter.

Now that would be win/win. My sympathy is with the guy who appears to be an internal laughing stock as that hell hole. If he could become decent, perfect!

Being the laughing stock on an organization that is a laughing stock itself, has to be as low as it gets.

Jets source on QB Christian Hackenberg: ‘He will never make it'

"He'll never make it"

Actually feeling sorry for the young fella

For those who haven't read the article -- look at this quote:

That’s a harsh and unfair assessment for a player who has only been a professional for eight months, but opinions about Hackenberg in the building are strong… and similar. An ESPN report last week cited a team source claiming that the rookie couldn’t throw the ball into the ocean.

“I guess it depends which ocean,” Woody Johnson cracked on Thursday. “Maybe it was a small ocean. The EPA describes that as an ocean… Anyway, no, that’s not funny.”

WTF???!!! What a complete clown show of an organization! Can you imagine Bob Kraft saying that about, say, Jordan Richards?

Edit: Looks like BaconGrundleCandy mentioned this earlier.

Bendover Bob wouldn't have to say anything; Jordan Richards' suck is plain for all to see.

The roster is the by far and away the biggest problem, not the coaching. This is a garbage dump that Macc assembled, and I have no idea why he still has a job, unless he was directed by ownership that he had one year to build a competitive roster (in 2015), which was likely the case.

Macc inherited a bad situation, in that the Jets had a ton of money in the 2015 offseason. You don't want to have a massive amount of cap space when that money is not going to be used mostly on extending your own players. Otherwise, you are going into the offseason with the intent of using a huge amount of money on poor value free agents acquired through auctions, and mostly those who are vastly overrated in the league despite being available at the right time. Getting a bunch of over 30 fading veterans and putting lipstick on the pig (or Fitzpatrick's beard, in this case)...this collapse was coming.

I know Jets fans hated Idzik, but I thought the fans were impatient. He whiffed on some draft picks and talent evaluations, but too small a sample size to know if it was just bad luck. It was a massive rebuilding project that required patience, developing young players, and resisting the temptation to build a quick fix team. Then Johnson pulled out his trademark card of, after two years, starting over with an opposite philosophy, bringing in the low key Bowles to replace Ryan and the spend happy Macc to replace the conservative Idzik. I see a pattern with the NYJ...

Good points, but Idzik was complete trash. I was even ok with (just as I am now looking at 2017) a "rebuilding" year(s).

Though Idzik went way too far. In a passing league we had NO DBs or WRs. Seriously. College teams had more talent. He could have brought in young or high risk cheap players... but no. It was just a joke of a roster while holding onto 50mil+. Made no sense whatsoever.

I was thinking Woody and Idzik had a deal. Woody would pay Idzik a ton of dough to be the fall guy here for a couple years and fix the cap issues. Then all of a sudden mid-season Idshit spends like 10mil on Percy Harvin! I was so confused and then chipped in money for billboards myself. F Idzik.

Not to mention this is NY/NJ. Not Cleveland. A complete and total teardown and rebuild still has to at least try to be competitive. There are plenty of other entertainment options other than the Jets in the area. There are many benefits of being a "NY" team, but perhaps this is one of the drawbacks. If ya suck and are incompetant in doing so (see Ryan Fitzpatrick), you're going to get torn to shreds and people will stop paying to see it.

Macc's decision to bring back Fitzpatrick was a huge knock. A fireable offense in my opinion, IF the issue had been a year later. That single decision wasted a season. Not just a season for the fans, but in team and player development as well. However because this was only Macc's second year, he gets a mulligan. As dumb/incompetant the Fitz move was, GM and coach changes every two years is even more foolish.

Macc has shown good signs as well, so I still have hope for him. Suppose he got caught up in the media/fan hype around Fitz. Hell, many foolish people here thought Fitz was the Jets best option this year. Seems like 90%+ of all NFL fans and media did. But that's no excuse for a GM. They have to be smarter than the average fan/reporter.

Woody listens to the fans. As long as he does, the Jets will never win anything.

Sadly true. In rare extreme cases, like Idzik (billboards and plane banners) it could make sense. But it seems like Woody listens to public opinions way too often.

Thankfully he'll be over in England for the foreseeable future now. At least one good thing came from this election.

Probably already covered but this was hilarious.

Woody Johnson on unnamed coach saying Hackenberg can't hit the ocean: "Depends on which ocean."

That was absolutely hilarious. Cheers to Woody for that one.

cheers to Woody for his veritable existence....just keep on woddying Woody! You're the best!!! Soon you'll hit the heralded "50 Years Straight Sucking" milestone. I'll bet that will make all your incredibly ****ing stupid fanbase orgasmic.

There is a part of me that wants the Jets to be competitive. Its more fun when your rivals are good.

Lol agreed, but imagine being a Jet, Bill or Fish fan the past two decades. I think you'll understand if we'll root for a couple years of the Pats sucking once TB12 retires.

Even the GM is joking at the Jest's expense. They'll need voodoo, Houdini, dark elixers and everything else to beat the Pats next year.

Wonder what their excuse will be after Brady retires?

"Now that Tom Brady is suspended the door to the division is open." WRONG
"Now that Tom Brady is retired the door to the division is open" WRONG
"Now that BB is retired the door to the division is open" WRONG
"Now that the Jets have moved to London the door to the division is open" WHAT??

"Now that the Jets have moved to the AFC South the door to the division is open" Good LUCK with that.

You must be a hoot at parties.

The marketplace sorts this stuff out. If that approach to sports radio would work in the greater Boston market, it would already be successful. There simply aren't enough local sports fans who prefer it over nonsense and hysteria.

Yeah I get what you are saying but I respectfully disagree. Sure the local media puts out a lazy product that attracts listeners but I'd argue that after listening to NY Radio for 3 years that there is a better possible product.

I don't want to hear "I'm not paid to be a fan" BS. I don't want to hear a puck head and his bat boy analyze football. I want to hear real fans talking real football instead of click bait contrarians looking for ratings.

Joe B, Mike F and a lot of the WFAN crew are real fans of their respective teams. I like that. If you call in as a Boston fan they will razz you like a NY fan would. Fun and enjoyable radio. We don't have that.

Maybe it's for the best. I've been listening to a lot of NPR over the last few years. Educational.

I understand it completely. Its Corporate America. Its survival of the fittest in the NFL. If you suck, you pay the price. If you are good, you lay waste.

I actually have a bigger problem with the Bills and LOLphins than the Jets. That team and those fans were complete doochbags.

I actually watched the Pats/Jets game X-Mas eve with my close friend Jets buddy. His wife and kids were over too so he kept it low key on his rants but he is seething and ready to go postal on Woody. He wants Woody to sell the team once hes made ambassador and/or hire a real football guy who has complete control over budget, culture...everything.

You will get NOTHING, Jet fan..and like it. End of discussion. You ARE the suck. Your only possible saving grace is the utter destruction of this insult to all sports fans, the dismantling and eradication of the NY Jets "football" organization. J-E-T-S... END THE SUCK!

If I had the choice to either party with Brady or Joker, I'm choosing Joker.

Well yeah, me too. Brady is an awesome QB, but let's face it, he's not the type of guy ya wanna have a beer with.

A party at Brady's probably involves organic fruit/vegetable smoothies and manicures.

I'm sure Joker at least sneaks some vodka in his Ensure drinks on occasion.
