Didn't see this mentioned, and I'm sure most don't want to actually look at it, but they
do a really pretty egregious hatchet job on Tom. Disguised as 'nothing personal, but...', but
I really don't remember them doing such a lengthy article on why someone SHOULDN'T
win an award.

The case against Tom Brady as MVP

I think that piece is a little over-the-top, but it is not malicious Deflategate-truther-ism:

Now, again, this argument has nothing to do with the REASON Brady missed those games. I have written and said many times that a four-game suspension for Brady was not justified, and I stand by that. Some have suggested that it's "not fair" to hold it against Brady that he missed four games for what most people seem to agree was a pretty dumb reason.

"For the season, Ryan beat Brady in completion percentage, yards per game, yards per attempt, passer rating and Total QBR. Ryan beat everybody in those last three categories. He did it for a team that had a far less effective defense than Brady's. The Patriots held opponents to a league-low 15.6 points per game, while Atlanta allowed 25.4. Ryan did it while taking 37 sacks, while Brady took only 15."

When did taking sacks make one a better quarterback?

Awfully long article to basically make the one point that he couldn't play for the first 4 weeks.

Yeah, it's one thing to say 'I think Ryan should win because he's had a better year and is more valuable to his team.' It's another to devote an enormous article to trying to ensure that TB12 /doesn't/ win it.

ESPN said:
Brady is brilliant, and his season was brilliant. The problem is that it wasn't a season. It was three-quarters of a season. And that's why Brady shouldn't win this particular award this particular year.

So if that's his logic then he's saying in the scenario the Pats went 0-4 to start the season and then Brady came back led them to a division title anyway ... something that I believe has never been done before in the NFL.... then that would still not be MVP worthy because he missed the 4 games, period.

Can't say I agree....

I did not read it but I have to admit, it does seem pretty suspicious that this is the main story on the front page. You don't see many full length articles detailing why a guy shouldn't win an award. I'm sure it's just a coincidence. Slow news day.

There's just one problem: We're BSPN and we started a smear campaign nearly 2 years ago against the guy.

We thought we won when he was suspended for 4 games, but now he's come out and played like his hair was on fire, and through injuries and other teams taking unforeseen steps backward, he may very well be poised to win his unprecedented (for a QB, I see you Charled Haley) FIFTH Super Bowl.....

And even though we're alleged "journalists" and shouldn't be injecting ourselves into a story, we're BSPN, and we don't care.

The implication is that Ryan's O-line isn't as good as Brady's so his stats should be looked at in a better light..

Yea, I get that. But sacks aren't just prevented by the OL. The QB can move, get rid of the ball quicker, throw it away, etc., all the stuff Brady does to make his OL look better than they sometimes are.

I'd like to see some of these articles he was writting at BSPN the last 2 years that flat out stated that Brady was being railroaded.

I'm betting they'd be pretty hard to find if anyone called him on it. But why would that shock me

The article should be entitled "The NYJLO has instructed us as their media propaganda puppets to write an Anti-Tom Brady New England Patriot article to sway public opinion to a negative light of Brady's fantastic accomplishments despite coming out after a BS 4-game suspension and smear campaign we were instructed to spearhead"

I guess that would have been a bit lengthy for a heading and WAYYY to truthful and accurate. Such as it is.
