If it goes into the end zone on a kickoff it's a live ball.
No team ever has purposely allowed kickoff to bounce into the end zone.

Thank you, did not realize that.

Not trying to say that I am particularly smart or anything but didn't most of us realize that and assumed that this is as good of a chance as any for a throw ?
you would think..maybe Fisher would not have known.

So, does the D pass the eye test now?

Hmmmm, I'm not really sure about their o-line...

That's amazing. Butler wasn't about to put up with Smith's crap Monday night and, outside of a couple of plays, he put the straps on Smith.

That shot is a thing of beauty..

I can't get over the fact that there's 2 guys blocking 1 guy, Ninkovich unblocked, 3 guys blocking 1 guy, and 1 guy blocking 3 guys!!!! LOL!

probably a zone blitz pickup mistake ? dont know the play called but i doubt its a straight up rush.

This was also one of the most important plays of the game. What incredible coverage.

Of course there was some confusion by the Patriots part but still, that's pretty bad.

His speed is deceiving, he doesn't look fast to me, but no one was catching him from behind.

That catch and run was so odd. I couldn't tell who was going full speed, who wasn't, who got tired. At first White just pulled away from Webb, but then White makes a move to try to turn Weddle around. I can't tell if White loses speed or if Webb turns up the wick after White makes that move.

Both special teams' blunders were the result of Jones. He obviously muffed the punt, and on the subsequent kickoff they took him out and put freakin' slater in there. Slater is not qualified to return kickoffs or punts - the ball was going to land at the 1 and would have likely bounced into the end zone for a touchback. Slater instead decides to field it. Golden rule on special teams- if the ball is going to land within the 5 yard line don't try to run it back, let it go into the end zone.

Cyrus Jones was the deep man on the kickoff return.

And how do you know the ball was going to roll into the endzone?

Come on...
He simply ****ed up on that return and there is no reason to scapegoat anyone else. Slater not only could have played for a touchback but also had a gap to run through but instead decided to run into a wall of players.

I saw that too! Had Cyrus as the lead blocker for him.
