OT: The Rex era might be ending a lot sooner than we thought

There are several head coaches who could be out of a job after this season. John Fox (Bears), Todd Bowles (Jets), Chip Kelly (49ers), maybe even Marvin Lewis (Bengals). Bills could find a new HC from among those guys. Rex will still be a popular choice as a defensive coordinator, if he wants to.

Not sure Taylor is doing any worse job than half the qb's in this league. Taylor did not allow the steelers rb to gain almost 300 yards singlehandedly.

Ryan and his brother are cooked as coaches. That defense is not physically engaged and the schemes are horrible.

Hopefully they hire Chuck Pagano when he's fired in about 4 weeks.

Chip Kelly is never getting another NFL job.

Tough guy defensive genius Rex gives 38-238 to leveon bell. Lol

So where else can he wind up,Oh Yeah,Dolphins. This way he can make a mockery of all AFCE opponents.

Does it really make sense to fire Rex now when they'd just be leaving things to all of his handpicked coaches that are going to get fired in a month anyway? He brought both coordinators and six position coaches from the Jets to the Bills, plus his brother. The allegiance for most of these guys is to Rex, not to the Bills.

I think you just wait and fire all 10 of those guys (and more) after the season instead of firing the guy at the top now to make some kind of point.

For your amusement, let's recall the announcement when Rex was hired in Buffalo and contrast it with the statement the Bill's owner is expected to make soon.

Bills owner Terry Pegula said:
Following an extensive search, we are pleased today to announce that Rex Ryan is our new head coach. Rex brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the position that we feel will be a tremendous benefit to our players and the entire Bills organization. He was very impressive during the interview process, as were many of the candidates to which we spoke, and we feel Rex is the best fit for our team. We look forward to his leadership and expertise in directing our team to the playoffs and bringing a championship to Buffalo for our fans.

More spin at > Rex Ryan named Buffalo Bills head coach

You don't fire him to make the last 3 weeks better, you fire him to send a message to the fans and to get the replacement search started ( not that you can't search while he is there but it could be awkward)

Rex will have a new NFL HC job very soon.

I take great pleasure in knowing that Rex's stomach acids are burning particularly hot tonight. Ta
Hat fat piece of **** and him mongoloid brother are complete failures. He knows he's likely gonna get the axe at the end of the year now that the Bills are done playoff wise.

Rex is pathetic.mbut I hope the Bills keep him. He signed a 5 year contact so he's got 3 years and about 15 million owed to him if he does get gassed. Which makes he hate him even more.
A buffoon, a con man, a loud mouth, a bully. And a terrible head coach.
Can't wait to listen to Buffalo radio tomorrow.

Rex was never a good Head Coach. He did cook up some good schemes defensively when he had all star talent to deal with, but there's more to being a Head Coach then coaching the D. He never seemed to learn there were 2 other areas that needed attention; Offense and Special Teams.

He will be missed though. Who else will influence the organization to keep drafting defense at the top of the draft while the offense looks straight out of the 1940's.

It really doesn't matter because he'll fail wherever he's the head coach. He's a a terrific DC. Not head coach material.

I agree. Peter Principal. He's a great DC, but HC is beyond his expertise. Last post I was listing LA, SF, Cleveland, to suggest the franchises that would give Rex a sporting chance to win won't, leaving him with the suicide jobs.

wait...what Rex era?...there was an era? or an "error"?

I don't like Rex but I think of him as being a good coach.
The Bills are a QB away from being a playoff team. Few coaches have been as competitive as he has versus us.
Rex has been very bad in buffalo, especially with the defense. I really don't think Taylor is the issue, that defense has really underperformed.
