Post Game Thread- Pats @ Jets

I agree. Enter with caution. I personally like the knee jerk, paly by play reactions. I feel like I'm sitting in a sports bar with everybody yelling. I miss that. The emotional ups and downs are trip. I know most posters are reactionary and will calm down when the dust clears. The game thread is not for the weak at heart. I recommend the post game thread. No sense in coming into the game thread, just to say "I never go into the game thread because...." Just MO

I totally agree but some of the stuff was over the top today.. maybe its because it was the Jets. And I probably missed 60% of the replies lol

I thought the defense really stepped up today when the skill players on the offense were seemingly all gimpy.

When the defense got beat, it was almost always by a good throw by Fitz and a good catch by the receiver and/or an overturn of the call on the field. I can live with those beats. Very good against the run today and mostly OK on the crossing routes. Got beat a couple of times by a RB coming out of the backfield.

Some of the time they solved the problem of who to put next to High by playing him solo in a 5+1 setup.

Nice to see Sheard re-integrated in the defense too - made a couple of plays I noticed. Brown showed up several times too and Roberts had some good plays against the run.

Jets just played their Super Bowl, they haven't put in that kind of effort for weeks.

Happy just to get the W, no style points needed.

Well i expected their best effort against us. Inferiority complex.

What's the point in calling out other posters? You want to complain, complain. You want to be a homer, do so. I don't have the right to criticize other posters' fanhoods and neither does anyone else.

I have paid money to go to Pats' games and that gives me the right to be any kind of fan I please. /rant

Yes, But you have to admit, if you weren't at the edge of your seat, yelling at your tv, your.... well normal. .
I was a hot mess.

Wsn't pretty but at the end of the day 9-2 is all that matters, along with the health of Gronk and Marty. If they're back to speed for Baltimore even that is fantastic.

3 good tests for this team down the stretch - Baltimore, Denver, MIami. Need to have Oakland start losing some too, I think their remaining schedule is a little tougher than ours.

No one is talking about Sheard bouncing back. Had a solid day today - much better against the run and had some push in rush. In a game where his effort was really the measuring stick on the "BB has lost the defense" meme some of the mediots have floated recently (looking at you Borges), he showed tremendously in raising his game back toward the expected level.

I admit to writing about plays I think are crap isn't the game thread...it doesn't help me at all...and if I knew what the hell I was talking about I would be coaching I guess. I have to learn to stay out of the game thread and hit the post game thread instead. LOL

But I still wonder sometimes that when offenses go for the big shot on 3rd down rather than play for the 1st down, keep the chains moving.

The great seattle offense just put NINE points against Tampa Bay.

Hangover game after their big game a couple weeks ago?

I wonder if Pete Carroll will be talking any trash about the opposing crowd again

It was a tough ugly win. Things could of been a lot better on both sides of the ball. However, the Jets Dline is very good and very familiar with what the Pats do. Let's not pretend they are not.

On a side note, any given Sunday was shown again today. Seattle looking like the Super Bowl favorite after coming out of Foxboro with a hard fought win lays an egg vs TB.

At this point im just happy with the W and hoping for a healthy head count tomorrow. Especially Gronkowski.

defense played well but were helped by jets being jets. the drop on 3rd and 4 for e.g before the game winning drive. I would love to see more of a pass russh and aggressiveness. They did that in the first quarter on 1st and 2nd downs at times with good results but 3rd down they seem to fall back to 3-4 man rushes which without a playmaker like a justin houston/mack etc is fruitless. Yes long made the play today but you cant count on that every down.
