Overall the offense was off but they played well enough to win the game. Scored 24 points against probably the best defense in the league. They attacked the ball and forced those turnovers. Hats off there.

Brady has been so automatic at sneaks his entire career, I'd say you can add that onto his resume of all things Goat. Sooner or later it was gonna happen. So be it, it's been bread and butter, so be it. finally failed.

The defense and the coaching were terrible. Players nowhere near the ball at times, out of position, rushing two or 3. It's a good offense they played against, but the time Wilson made for himself in the pocket was unacceptable. He got the job done.

Better team certainly won today, especially with the turnovers they forced.

Was thinking with 2 weeks off I'd see better results.

I don't understand why we go through these years trying to piece scrub defenses together when every year we've won a Championship it's because there's been a decent defense on the field.

2014 they committed to improving the secondary after getting sick of losing big games due to the secondary getting toasted with the game on the line and now we're back to 2008-2013 (2011 especially) levels of defense, playoff game losing defense.

It's a downright embarrassment for a guy with a defensive mind like Bill to put this defensive product on the field.

Brady is getting older you should be putting less pressure on him not more, he should be getting more help not less.

Dallas Cowboys are pretenders. I'd be shocked if the Hawks don't represent the NFC in the super bowl in Feb

I do agree with you that I expect SEA to represent the other conference, but we seem to keep stating how much DAL are pretenders when they've beaten PHI, @GB, and @PIT. They have a balanced attack, an incredible running game and an average enough defense considering that they don't produce many turnovers.

I'm starting to feel as though they are better than we think. Are they good enough to go to the SB? Probably not, but I do believe that they'd represent the next tier after having SEA at the top.

I couldn't agree with you more.

The Bill Belichick of 80s Giants and 01-04 patriots defenses use to be so aggressive creative fearful intimidating....what the heck happened? Why this soft conservative confused crap with no playmakers?

2016 patriots the most boring defense to watch in franchise history

Gotta love the slant people take "Pats defense sucked, Seahawks defense was AWESOME"

Yep real awesome,

Allowed only 30 yards less than the Pats
Worse on 3rd down
Gave up more 1st downs

"But but those 2 turnovers"

Pats should have had 3 turnovers, Ryan dropped an INT, Hightower dropped an INT and the refs gave a clear fumble back to the Seahawks even though Roberts came out of the pile with it.

I certainly share some concerns about the defense, but Belichick has done more with much less. If we're throwing around the 2011 defense, take a look at some of those names in the secondary. I think they'll fix some of the issues one way or another. Others will have to wait until the offseason via the draft and free agency.

Seahawks d was playing the patriots Offense which is the best in the NFL

Patriots were playing one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL and a mediocre offense in Seattle

Big difference

This defense lacks turnovers because we lack playmakers, we do not have one worthy superstar talent on our defense right now

Just got back from the game....so dam frustrating those last 4 tries to send it to OT as well as the Jules fumble...mistakes and we made more than they did and you do that against seattle..you pay for it.

Both losses coming at home is strange (although the L to Buffalo with with a hurt Jacoby)

Rest of our schedule looks fairly easy so we are still in good position for a bye...ugh

Defense gave up 7 more points and 30 more yards than Seattle's ELITE SKAAAWWWD.

Well, if you view the Pats defense as terrible, then it was an equal matchup (great vs. great, bad vs. bad).

Um, the Seattle defense was playing the Pats offense, with a healthy Brady/Gronk/Edelman/Bennett/Amendola/Hogan/Blount/White group, IN FOXBORO.

The Seattle offense has stunk out the joint most of the year and still torched the Pats D.

when have we ever won a super bowl without talent on D?

01 03 04 14 were all loaded with star talent on D

So? 4-12 CLE vs. 8-8 CIN in 2004. Final score: 58–48.

I have a hard time believing our defensive talent is truly this inept. I hate to say it but i think a serious philosphy change is needed on defense. This bend but dont break stuff has cost us several superbowls trips/wins over the years in big games. I just look at the way a team like seattle plays vs how we play on defense and its night and day. Sure our talent isn't great, but it cant just be THIS bad, can it? BB's defensive philosphy is looking more and more outdated by the week.

That Ravens monday night game suddenly got a whole lot scarier. They are a team like the Seahawks that aren't intimidated by the Pats and Joe Flacco has had some of his best games against us in the past. You know they are gonna come in looking for a fight just like Seattle did tonight.

You can't fix suck. Logan Ryan sucks, the defensive line sucks, the pass rush sucks. There's nothing left really to do with it.

I think you're overreacting a bit.

Belichick will give us a competitive defense to go with our talented offense, and that usually gives us a chance come January.

I'm not sure what CLE vs CIN in 2004 has to do with anything.

JMC is trying to claim that somehow the Patriots and Seahawks defenses are equal, despite one going against a high powered healthy squad (on the road, where the home team is nearly unbeatable), and the other going against an offense that has produced games of 12, 6, and 3 points.

That game was always going to be a challenge in my opinion. It's in Baltimore, as well.

It's 1 game/Pats sloppy. Roberts and High need to get on the same page. That team hasn't been able to run the ball all year until last night. When the Pats show up....the 2 best teams in the NFL were on the field last night. Dallas Cowboys are pretenders. I'd be shocked if the Hawks don't represent the NFC in the super bowl in Feb
Idk if they can beat Seattle but Dallas is legit IMO. A couple years back they went in to Seattle and had a statement win, and nearly beat them last year with Matt Cassel and Darren McFadden leading the offense. Wouldnt be surprised to see a Cowboys/Seahawks NFC championship with either team winning. Two NFC teams with a lot of confidence and swagger.
