Dion Lewis Update

If Lewis is activated, do James White's snaps disappear?
I see White as too good of a proven commodity this year to be passed on the depth chart immediately. Lewis will probably take a couple snaps away from LG and White, but the big upside is that he'll be taking all of Bolden/Foster's snaps. I'm guessing that's his starting point before he moves his way up the depth chart.

If Dion comes back and plays like he did the first half of last year.. my god. We can litteraly beat down any defensive scheme. We can go deep to Hogan, long seam routes to gronk, short to intermediate passes to Amendola and Edelman and then screen/crossing routes with running backs White and Lewis.. We can do it all.

You forgot doing it all in two-TE sets with Bennett.

Honestly, not to sound like a spoiled NE fan brat , but given the NFL landscape this year, if this team is healthy and doesn't win it all it'll be the biggest disappointment since 2007. Too much is lining up.

As Dion is not officially on the roster, does he have to be listed? Or is this great news?

It means he's playing. Things are too quiet.

EDIT: I'm well aware that since he isn't on the 53, a report on his injury status isn't required. But, since his visibility during media-access has been high, I'm wagering we get some good news by 4pm this Saturday.

Otherwise he must be activated by the 17th or get IR'ed which is something I really doubt. Activating him on or prior to that date is too much of a heads up for SF.

My understanding is that he has not been added to the 53. That could come by this Sunday, by 11/16 or not at all.

The writing was on the wall in 2007. Tremendously disappointing of course, but apart from Moss' singular talent (a big "apart from" to be sure), this team is offensively deeper, more talented and diverse. Not sure if it's close, actually.

The writing on the wall was plain to see in December 2007 when the Patriots faced a series of top defenses. Suddenly the pinball scoring machine stuttered as good DCs with talented defenses markedly slowed down the Patriots O. Those December games had me very worried for the playoffs, and I'm an optimistic Pats homo.

I would like to see DJ Foster get another year in our Off-season program to build up his body. Lewis and White are both FA after 2017 I think. So If we still have Foster we could decide to keep one of Lewis/White. The Patriots like to carry at least two Scat Backs.

White on Limited carries is averaging 4.1 per carry he's not going to be Tackle Breaking machine but he's been a solid runner and a excellent receiver out of the Backfield. Whites 8.9 ave receiving is 5th best on a stacked Patriots Offense he's well on his way to posting career highs in that department. The Defense has have problems accounting for White and he's very sure handed like Danny Amendola.

Do you mean "homer?"

But yeah...playoff scoring was 31...21...14, not too hard to read the trendline. Last 6 games they averaged under 30, even including the 38 against the NYG in the finale. Not bad of course, but not otherworldly either.

Huge DJ fan. Really liked him and JJ to top off the draft. I agree with what you said about another year. Neither him and White "like" contact" but both are great fits here. I think Foster could be a better version if you will. White has played great though, i have to give him that. And Brady obviously loves playing with him.

Im bringing Lewis along slowly and literally thinking about getting him in game shape for the playoffs and thats it.

Lewis being activated, if it's gonna happen for this game won't happen until Saturday.
