I turn the TV on and it happens to be one one of the games (Ravens Steelers). The Ravens are trying to get into FG range at the end of the half. With about 20 seconds left, Flacco drops back and fires ANOTHER 50-5o ball and of course gets a flag for PI. They do the replay and it is totally clear that the only one pushing off was the offensive player. But the announcers make a comment completely ignoring what the replay showed and concurred with the ref's poor call.
In that ONE play it was completely clear that the NFL is not allowing any more questioning the officials calls, and scoring points is the most important goal of the game. I muttered an epithet under my breath switched the channel and was rewarded with a simply fascinating documentary about the Korean War and the decisions that were made leading up to the battle of the Chosin Reservoir subsequent effect it had on the future policies of the US. Lots of first person commentary by the guys who survived it. It was a great testimony to the fighting skills and courage of the American soldier and the stupidity and arrogance of some of the leaders who order them into battle.
BTW- we made a number of correct decisions during the Korean War, and some bad ones as well.
