"The 5 Toughest Receivers I’ve Ever Covered" by Chris Harris jr

Gronk has made every DB on that team his ***** since 2011. He was the only guy they had to cover in last year's AFCCG (because everyone else was severely injured or not playing) and he still went off for 140+ yards.

1. Edelman, when healthy, routinely makes Harris his *****.
2. Using the term "covered" when discussing Gronk is a stretch. Standing near would be a better phrase.

With these Players' Tribune articles, I always wonder how much is actually written by the given "author". My basic assumption is that they write a rough draft and have more linguistically-adept people edit and reconstruct their pieces.

That being said - this was awesome. Harris comes across as an absolute football nut who loves the game and is 100% dedicated to getting better at his craft. Seems like a player BB would kill to have on his team.

I'd love to compare Antonio Cromartie's rough draft with the published piece lol
Im sure a lot of them are legit though with just normal editing.

Ty OP for sharing, was a fun read and now I'm checking out a bunch of them.

There's some great insights into the workday of an NFL cornerback - really cerebral stuff.

I'll bet the time Edelman played defensive back helped mold him into a much better WR. The fact that he was called out specifically for running strong routes is interesting when there are so many flashier guys out there. I always think Edelman gets overlooked by both the fans and the league.

Man I love clowning on Chris Harris and all of the Broncos but when you read a guy say he watched 10 hours of film to make one interception, you have to respect that.

However my guess is that Talib watched 20 minutes of film and then said screw it, grabbed his gun and went to the club.

I mean, a lot of these guys went to college and not every college program out there turns a blind eye to poor academics so I don't know why you'd assume they need someone else to write for them.

Cromartie doesn't seem like the brightest bulb in the box. At some point you would think that he could have done some very simple arithmetic and discovered that it was cheaper to get a vasectomy. Or... who knows? Maybe I'm wrong and he just really really loves kids.

Even people who write books for a living have editors. How much editing that needs to be done is really depending on the skill of the writer. In the end it's the writer that approves the final version that gets printed.

He was smart enough to say Brady shouldn't be suspended and the suspension set a precedent for Goodell to run roughshod over players so that puts him in the upper 5% of intelligence among the league and its fans.

Most incredible thing about Gronk in my opinion is how elusive he is for a big guy.

If you go into your bathroom, turn off the lights, turn on a strobe light and say 'Keg Party' 3 times he'll appear wearing oversized novelty glasses and carrying pre-roofied drinks.

and that seam route he references as being Gronk's favorite is the exact route that Ward tries to use to tear his ACL again

By "cover" he means grab, clutch and hold.

********. What a waste of 20 bucks. Anyone interested in a slightly used strobe light?

Crap like this is why I have you on ignore.

Watching Gronk play, in all honesty he is the most dominant non-QB football player to ever play this game (including LT and Jim Brown)

Sounds like Belichick: "If you want to get a jump on a route, you have to start making the interception on Monday."

Until we start seeing 6 foot 4 230lb or so that can run below 4.5 DBs Gronk is going to be matchup issue.

To much size and too good of hands. Even if you did every thing right on a coverage if you dont have the size based on where its thrown your going to lose as a DB.
