Yep, and Flynn at least has some basic understanding of our offense, which likely makes him a better candidate than most.

Even assuming that JG is out indefinitely, I'd wait until after Thursday. They're playing with house money after last Sunday's win. Give Brissett a chance to show if he's a viable backup. If he's a complete bust, mess with everybody's head by bringing in Jules and make a move for a veteran on Friday with a long week to prepare for the Bills.

Need a backup for Thursday, though. Julian Edelman is not that guy, and he has no problem telling you himself. Emergency 3rd QB is one thing, but outright backup is a different animal.

Although I would expect them to consider JE over Brissett. If he is the better option, they could go that way. I doubt it plays out like that but since he knows the system, he is technically a candidate. I can't imagine they overlook that possibility.

Right and needs to be a veteran especially given the short week. Rowe or Garoppolo go on IR with chance to be recalled-we don't have anyone there yet so safe bet. Or we release a core specially teamer or a tight end.

Play the games to win is Bill's mentality for sure and 1 NFL QB does not cut it. Julian as QB does not work because we loose our best receiver.
