What do you think the plan is for QB's in 2025?

My suspicion is that Milton and Zappe are competing to see who is the #3 QB in 2024 and also the presumptive #2 QB in 2025.

If neither is good enough to be a backup QB, the team will have a serious need in 2025, perhaps forcing us to sign a free agent veteran.

Brissett will be a free agent next year. He has experience in the system.

Here's my suspicion Joe Milton have upside and a world of potential stumpy Zappe doesn't.

If that was the plan, why did we sign him to a one-year contract?

But, yes, one option is a veteran at about the same skill and cost as Brissett.

I'm sure the organization hopes that Maye will be ready to start and Milton will be good enough to be a very cheap backup. So, that would be Plan A, but they obviously will need other plans if either of those developments doesn't happen.

Are there any decent QBs in next year's draft? Not to start over or anything...would be good to kinda double dip a la brady and jimmyinjury..

Start of 2024
1. JB
2. DM - becomes #1 by end of year
3. JM
PS/Released BZ

2025
1. DM
2. JM
3. Veteran QB - resigning JB would be OK
PS Young developmental QB

Too early for 2026 and beyond QB situation thread?

Maye very quickly establishes himself as the best QB on the team. he may not be 100% ready, but he gives the team it's best chance to win. up to the staff to put him and the offense in positions to win.
win the field position, top and turnover battles. make your FG's.

I doubt Brissett returns to be a backup in 2025. He'll move on to another team looking for a one year stopgap starter. Brissett is the Ryan Fitzpatrick of our generation.

After Zap wins the SB for the Pats, I don't see extending him, so then Maye or Milton will take over for the back to back SB wins.

I feel bad for people who have to take drugs to get to my level of crazy.
