Gronk out vs Dolphins

Because I didn't know it was just rumors and gossip. Which is why I asked where it was coming from. When I see a dozen people saying the same thing I assumed there was some source behind it. But forget it, attack me for asking a question instead of the people who keep spouting this nonsense
Who's attacking you? I can only assume it's someone I have on my ignore list and that's a rather distinguished group.

What pisses me off is hamstring pulls are probably the most avoidable debilitating injury in sports. Proper training, stretching and warming up (staying warm) are key. Gronk isn't to blame for his prior injuries but I do blame him for this one. Same goes for Solder. A bad hamstring can ruin a season.
I'm not so sure about that Tune. I played sport to a reasonably high level and a couple of times, I pinged hamstrings simply running. There are a multitude of issues that may lead to a cause and effect soft tissue injury. Gronk's had back issues in the past. If that's tightened up on him at some point, it's not unreasonable to suggest that may have caused a hamstring issue.

Gronk is practicing with Brady in a remote Country that is off the grid.

Makes JG's win on the road even more remarkable. I would have sworn a win in Arizona would involve lotsa Gronk. And Gronk taking over the game.

I'll probably get flagged with dislikes but you gotta wonder how much Gordy is behind this. I'm not saying hes not hurt, I'm just wondering if this is what New England gets from Gronk when his deal is more team friendly.

Maybe Gordy is right. Someone needs to step up and put things in perspective. You have to think the Patriots team doctors screwed up some things early in Gronk's career. Ever notice that gigantic black cast on Gronk's arm that is never coming off during games? No matter how much a guy makes, why throw him out there with a high reinjury risk in week 2? Hamstring injuries are really easy to aggravate.

That said, I doubt Gordy really makes the decisions, but I'm sure his past concerns are still influential.

Not surprised - the Pats luck with injuries coupled w Team Gronk's involvement meant this "hammy" would take half a season to heal...

I love how people are like "we don't need him, we have aj derby".....

FWIW, Tom Curran and Christopher Price (both on WEEI right now) think that Gronk may play on Thursday and they are holding him out because of the short week coming up and he would have trouble recovering from today.

EDIT: Curran just predicted that today's game is the only game he misses this week and it is his understanding that Gronk is close.

If this were brought about because Gronk and his family were pulling some kind of power move, there's no way in hell BB would have allowed him to be voted a captain on this team. We hear all the time that who gets "voted" is then carefully considered by the coaching staff, and they basically choose their own guys. I highly doubt BB would be okay with a captain who he felt could play but chose not to for contract reasons.

This injury is real guys, deal with it.

This is the purest definition of a strawman. You've cobbled together two independent comments ("We don't need Gronk until Pittsburgh because we're still better than the other teams until then" and "I like AJ Derby and want to see what he can do") to make an argument that literally no one has ever, and will ever claim.

National TV game this Thursday. He will play. The league needs the ratings...

Makes sense - he would then have a longer-than-normal recovery period until the next game after the Thursday game too.

THOUGHT (read as not backed up by any facts)

Do you guys think this is one of those things that if Brady were playing gronk would also be? Gronk is so dominant that you would hate to see him led into a huge hit for a meaningless play. Tom is good at not getting a receiver killed for a meaningless play.

Although Rapoport's report is slightly different. Says he isn't expected to play but is a game time decision.

You might recall that Gronk went down like he was shot, then played through a painful bone bruise. Why would his father worry about a damn hamstring? The only one negatively affected by coming back too soon from a hamstring, is the team, if he re-aggravates it and limps through the season.
