Gronk out vs Dolphins

U obviously haven't listened to Boston sports radio the last few days... AJ Derby is apparently Ben Coates
Despite listening the past couple of days, I missed that. Which show(s) featured that claim?

we don't need him!!!! we fine without him dolphins suck he not really injured he waiting until tommy come back cause he can't catch balls from anyone else. We got ultimate weapon BB and he know all the tricks to make us win, plus bag of money left in the refs locker room help too

Is that a fact?

An educated guess.

Does any other team already have their All-Pro LB, All-Pro TE, starting RB, starting RG hurt?

Derby also inactive, but Solder,Harbor and DJ Foster debut. Perhaps Fleming sees snaps at TE today?

Gronk is practicing with Brady in a remote Country that is off the grid.
Funny, but not true. It'd be against the rules. We in New England, at least, do not break the rules.

Hopefully, this is yet another year where the majority of the massive to minor injuries happen towards the beginning of the year, and most players than are healthy for the playoffs. Also, allows some second string parts to grow together and gell, getting playing time, they usually wouldnt get. Only a team like the pats that is very sucessful every year can countenance so many injuries, and not really be concerned that they will derail the team from MKAING the playoffs, thus can let guys rest and heal early in the year.

Other point as an astute poster posted above, from someone with back problems, it changes your whole body, and can easily manifest in a hamstring injury. Getting to the point that I would be ok with Gronk resting first 10 weeks, then play 6 weeks leading up to playoffs to sharpen up.

I think we're okay in the short term without him. I think we can make it through the next three with W's, though it'll be a lot more difficult without him.

I'm not so sure about that Tune. I played sport to a reasonably high level and a couple of times, I pinged hamstrings simply running. There are a multitude of issues that may lead to a cause and effect soft tissue injury. Gronk's had back issues in the past. If that's tightened up on him at some point, it's not unreasonable to suggest that may have caused a hamstring issue.
It's true, hammy's can be tricky and also lead to other injuries if not healed properly

...I said, hammy

So all 3 TEs who aren't Gronk have already been activated in the first two weeks. I guess that's why they're on the roster.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that. I ran track in college and have a minor degree in athletic coaching, including studies in anatomy and kinesiology. If you "pinged" your hamstrings simply running, you either weren't stretched/warmed up properly or had an abiding anatomical imbalance working against you, perhaps training related. Everyone has weak spots, though, and it takes a good trainer with scientific knowledge to identify them and prescribe a corrective regimen aimed at mitigating injury risk. The rest is on the athlete's shoulders to manage his body effectively. Developing flexibility, stretching and warming up properly are part of that -- especially important toward avoiding soft-tissue pulls and strains.

My point is these guys are professionals, with professional conditioning coaches and trainers. I will assume that with all the millions the Pats have invested in him, whatever inherent risk Gronk might have for hamstring pulls has been addressed by his conditioning coaches and trainers. How well he has managed HIS end of the responsibility I think might be open to question.

I remember Steamer (Stanley Morgan) occasionally had those problems...Gronk has a reputation as a very hard and dedicated worker...and I don't automatically have full faith in a medical staff just because they're 'professional' [see Bill Walton]. I might feel better if you were on our training team

Well, refs obviously thought the dough was from the 'Fins...
