Gronk, Cooper, Solder downgraded to OUT

Oh well. I don't see how this team wins on sunday. Solder already out. Maybe the defense can keep it close.

August 15 he "tweaked" it. 4 weeks Monday. As I wrote in another thread earlier, my feeling is we need to get used to this. Gronk's days at 100% are history. Really slow healer. And I love the guy.
Come on, Man. About the only games this kid has missed the prior 6 seasons were for a freak broken arm, and an ACL. Granted they DO take care of him, but that is more a factor of him being so god damned good. He tweaked a hammy 4 weeks ago, but evidently he tweaked it again last week.

In my mind, frankly, Solder is probably the bigger loss for this particular game.

But I'll tell you this. These 2 really key losses are actually going to make me enjoy this game even more. What would have been a very tough win if Brady was playing and we were at full strength, is now a game that see the Pats be a 10+ point underdog at game time. NO ONE will think we can win this game, including me. But THAT is what will make this game so much fun for me. No pressure at all. It will be interesting to see how BB will work this team and try and steal this game, but if they don't, so what. This is a team that has won 3 superbowls starting the 2-2 or WORSE. What do I really care about a game I won't remember the score of by November.

Sit back and relax and concentrate of all the good thing this team does during this full speed scrimmage. And if we happen to win this scrimmage......all the better. BTW- This is where we "pundits" bring out the "its not a sprint but a marathon" adage, to remind you all about the obvious. Just get those 3 healthy and we'll worry about November when we get there.

Best example of that was the 5-5 Pats of 2001. They got hot at the right time and still got a bye, on their way to a Lombardi

Well, on the bright side I'm not just assuming Sunday will be a loss, and if the defense goes off and keeps it close that will be a pleasant surprise.

Goodness me ,,,,guys some of you have given up before a single snap. This is going to be a Team effort . Why are we sleeping on Hogan who I put my money to be our secret weapon. Anyways in Bill and the Coaches we trust. They have a plan so quit the pessimism and enjoy the game. GO PATS.

Hey, why the long faces, dante's back....OL will work like a timex....

D-Day: War’s over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.
Bluto: Over? Did you say “over”? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he’s rolling.
Bluto: And it ain’t over now. ‘Cause when the goin’ gets tough…
[thinks hard]
Bluto: the tough get goin’! Who’s with me? Let’s go!

Don't get me wrong. I'm not angry with or being critical of Gronk. I think the guy's a warrior and tough as nails. Honestly, I think we'll miss his blocking Sunday more than his receiving. His absence combined with Solder's and Cooper's absences are really going to hurt. Finally, I think Gronk will have years of great production ahead of him, but I'm also resigned to the fact that he's going to miss games fairly regularly due to nagging injuries. I hope I'm wrong. We'll see.

Not exactly great news to wake up to but not surprising.

Oh well. They'll just gave to win the game without them.

If this was a must win he's be playing.

Hamstrings are such a pain and have the potential to nag the entire year

Was listening to someone yesterday on some radio show, and they claim it is better to wait an extra week instead of pushing it too early as it may have long term effects for the rest of the season..

Of course if today was a week day could tune and listen to I told you so or some other nefarious plot by the likes of Callahan, Minihane, Bertram, Felger and Mazz.. oh the horrors!!!

The only three of those morons with any credibility would be Zo, Fauria and Lou.

Bertrand probably deep fried and ate his hamstring.

In that regard, I am glad I live where I live and can't listen to those bozos....

Zo has been following along too much lately, as much as I respect his opinions he is often overshadowed by the bombasity of his sidekick.. he needs to assert himself more.

On the more subdued side, Arnold and Holley are fairly intelligent..

Exactly. I was speaking more to their expertise in dealing with hamstring injuries.

I've had them in HS and college sports but I'm old

You're right. Zolak seems to literally cower when Bertrand goes on one of his increasingly common anti-NE rants. He either meekly agrees or goes semi-silent. Ordway, Fauria and Merloni have grown increasingly unlistenable to me. Dale and Holley have become about the only local show I can listen to for more than 5 minutes without moving to Sirius music.

It's downright odd the seemingly mystical power Fat Bertrand has over Zo. It's spooky.

Reminds me of Big O when he had Smerlas, DeOssie and Sheppard licking his boots on the Big Show back in the day

Sports talk radio has become a shell of what is once was..

Lived in Western Maine for a while, and could not wait to get in the reach of Boston Sports Talk when I got closer to RI... now turn if off more than I turn it on.. I find it insufferable, redundant and boring.

Despite my chagrin, it is more popular than ever, maybe it is becoming the "fast food outlets" of today's sports..

It sucks that Gronk can't play but Bennett should do a good job in his place. The offensive line concerns me, however I feel good about their long term improvement with Dante back in charge. I think our defense will keep us in the game and I like our chances if we win the turn over battle.
