***The official Week 1 OTHER GAMES thread***

Few observations this morning.

Carolina has to be the worst team at time management, I dont understand the lack of urgency on getting plays in, getting up to the line of scrimage etc. Doesn't make sense and for all the "River boat Ron" crap he has serious game management problems on of the basics of football. Think about if they had a measly 30 seconds extra, I suspect they win that game, big "if" of course.

I guess he burned a timeout before the challenge to avoid the risk of no further challenges? Weird.

Initially I didnt think for either team losing Malik Jackson or Josh Norman was a big deal, I was so very wrong. Those are glaring losses after watching that game. While some folks hate Collingworth he does point out some things that make sense, the 5 step (10 yard) drop by Cam no longer an issue because Denver cant push the line without Jackson and Cam can take a 3 step drop instead, it will affect Von all season, he is fast but not someone that can push the pile so to speak.

Yup. A moment of clarity from Chris.

I have met Derek Wolfe and he is really a good kid, I like him, but he complained after the game about some cheap shots on him. Maybe. But his team is like the cheap shot kings.

I don't care who you are, that's funny right there. He's on one of the dirtiest teams around. Shut up.

steratore's crew will get downgraded for sure.

That is a good point that I missed.

It is surprising since I have always considered Steratore one if the best.

But then again, wasn't Ed Hochuli considered one of best a few years ago?

But at the end of the day we still lost both of those games, so that's all that really matters. The final score is the most important stat. Denver has always been tough.

we always seem to play the broncos tough, albeit unsuccessfully, in denver. when they come here they get blown out. i was counting on denver losing this one - now we gotta hope they lose to Indy, oakland, KC, houston and us. last night was one of those games that could have bitten denver in the rear end in january had it gone the other way.

they are human, but some of the refs are so arrogant. if a player tells them they missed something, some of them just brush it off as "you're just being emotional." newton kept telling that officiating crew during the game he was getting hit illegally and they just seem to ignore him as if they were saying "son, let me do my job. you have no idea what you are talking about."

last night could have been one of those rigged games.

No one was talking about how the games went or how Denver is tough to play. What was being talked about was the running game, I made two points that are 100% facts. My f**cking word some of you pessimistic doom-and-gloom trolls really should pick your spots better because you make it so obvious.

Nunchucks: Pats always struggle with Denver's run game
Me: They didn't last year when Hightower was playing
You: Pats lost both those games.

No f**king **** sherlock. That wasn't what was being talked about what was being talked about was how Pats always struggle against their run game and me showing evidence of that not being the case last year.

I am just stating the honest truth, grow up. No need to start being aggressive. There is a lot of saltiness present on this board.

People are always going to remember the final score and the final score is the most important stat. 100% Fact

Remember they were the team that let Indy come in there and beat them because they were scared to go to Foxboro and play the Pats. And that isn't something a Pats fan made up. That came from Demaryius Thomas' mouth.

it cost them the game...a little more urgency from the 5 minute mark on and it's not a 50 yard FG for the win..it's much closer. Cam did look confused a lot(concussed?)..no rushing team to the line, ect. He looked like McNabb from the SB.

Do you really beLIEve that?

Do you really beLIEve that?

What part of it came straight from Demaryius Thomas' mouth does your pessimistic doom-and-gloom mind not understand?

Demaryius Thomas: Some Broncos looked past Colts

“I think one thing was, I feel like guys kind of looked over the Colts,” Thomas said. “You had guys always talking the night before the game, you had, ‘Oh, I don’t want to go to New England and play New England.’ And I think that was one of the big things.”

Those are pretty strong accusations to say that you're own teammates were "scared". Now If they was going to Syria, Iraq or Gaza then I would understand, but Foxboro haha funny.

Do you KNOW that he said it or just beLIEve? The media doesn't always tell the truth (11 deflated balls lie). I personally don't believe that. Why would they be scared? lol they're not going to die or get blown up. They're doing their jobs, pro athletes. Now bring yourself back into the real world my child.

Strongly disagree. They [barely] beat Carolina at home last night, who was healthy, but I expected them to. I predicted it in this thread, because I knew Carolina wasn't the kind of team that could match up well against Denver. However, before last night (I'm including all of last season) they hadn't defeated a single top contender, in either conference, that hadn't been decimated by injury (and they had the fewest man games lost to injury.)

I think there are several teams that could lay a beating on them this season and prevent them from winning their division. NE, Indy, Cincy, Oakland (one game), and KC could very well sweep them.
If you say so. I still think Denver may well end up in the playoffs and could be troublesome. I wouldn't call it a slam dunk if we go out to Denver again with a struggling offensive line. But it's very early on, we'll see how both teams are faring when that day comes.

Also, that is not what he said. Just a polite correction.

Remember that the impetus for this was Edelman in the Superbowl. At least in that game Edelman crawled after the hit.

On one hit Newton was down like he had been shot.

but nobody cared when it was Russell Wilson in the NFC champ game...

If the independent guy pulled Edelmen after that hit I wouldn't have been happy but honestly if it were my job, I would have.
