Josh Kline released

What do you guys think of Karras? I haven't seen much of him so I'm really not sure. Any chance Tre Jackson can come back this year too?

Look up what happened to Kevin O'Connell.

My point is I think BB is better at understanding the market and a player's true value than Howie Rosen.

I would suspect that Cooper or Mason is ready to start.

Also, the team wasn't willing to pay Kline's salary and incentives. Perhaps, he will be re-signed after Game One if our OL injuries continue.

He must have some value among the league, because the Eagles thought they would be able to trade him for something (probably a low draft pick). That probably fell through when the interested party realized that he was likely to be released outright, so why give up a draft pick?

I wish the best for him. For all of the Kline bashing here, my memory is that he was our most consistent guard early last year before he got hurt, certainly the number of snaps he received early last season indicated that (he was consistently on the field at one of the guard spots).

I just think we have better options now: Thuney looks like a future star, Cooper may have not lived up to his draft status but he has been a starter-level guard and certainly has all the talent needed, for a guy who hardly passed blocked in college Mason played way better than I would have expected before he was hurt (I think he could be really good if Scar can teach him to pass block), and I would guess that Karras showed more upside at a much lower cost than Kline. Just a numbers game.

What does this mean regarding the trade? Do the Pats send another draft pick?

No they send the same 4th rounder to them. Kline was just thrown in to sweeten the deal. Either the Eagles decided they didn't want him or the Pats changed their mind and pulled him from the deal. Both parties seemed to agree so Pats kept him and released him. Nothing additional to be given.

Its an encouraging sign for the developing guards that bb doesnt feel he needs to resort to playing kline. Lots of potential on the interior imo

Expected. I really have to wonder the emotions these guys go through when things like this happen. Him and Stork being tossed back and forth between teams has to be excruciatingly demoralizing.

Well, they get to watch the films of them playing too...

First he has to take care of his shoulder. He was a different player after that re-injury in the 2nd vs Bears.

I'm surprised the Eagles didn't want him. Yeah Kline really isn't anyone good but he's an okay backup on a cheap contract. Eagles iOL isn't that good anyways.

Glad he found a home.

I know this is a bit of a stupid question, but: if he was picked on waivers (as opposed to after he cleared waivers), does that mean that the Titans will be paying him according to his previous contract?

By my count that's 4 Pats players claimed on waivers this cut-down season -- out of a leaguewide total of 35.

Not a stupid question.
Off waivers his contract is still valid. He gets paid his contract. He's off the Pats salary cap.
I pray that this is not a stupid answer.

Thanks for the info and the absence of making fun of me.
