Should we really have drafted a rb? Was there one that we could have gotten there that could turn our running game around? I believe there's only 3 individuals in the league who are capable of taking it from **** to at least average. One is Lewis (damnit). Another would be AP. And fortunately, the last guy is already with the team - Scar.

It is now more obvious than ever that Bill not properly addressing the RB (& OT) positions during the
off-season is nothing short of gross negligence and/or pure incompetence. Without even a semblance
of a running game, our SB hopes now lie in ruins. Thanks for nothing, "genius"(snicker).

Well, it was nice there for a while after the draft when you actually began to contribute to topics. I'm assuming we can count on your douche snicker in every post again?

F**k off, troll

At peak performance, White couldn't hold Lewis' jock.
As a player, yes. This offense is just better with Lewis.

As a receiver it's not as big of a margin. White had some long gains last year.

Even if that's a clean up surgery it's been reported that he had a setback in his recovery. I'm counting him done for this season, I hope BB is too and making plans with this assumption so if he comes back good, if not, it is what it is.

Good news (kinda): No one expected this guy to play like he was playing last year, he was on the bubble roster and until pre-season game 4 no one had him as a lock. This offense was not built around him, they can still move the ball with White or any other jag pass catching RB. What we really need is a power back, Blount is looking a better player so far, but we all know his ceiling.

Been saying since before he signed with the Steelers, Blount is underrated here by quite a bit. All offseason this board has been all aboard the Dion Lewis train. Wouldn't be shocked if he never gets another 1st down. I'd love to be wrong. But yeah let's cut Blount (sarcasm).

Lmao. Look I agree I think he should have addressed RB in the offseason but we aren't doomed.

Not sure about this last draft. But it was a glaring need last year too, it's been 2 years without drafting at least a project of a RB.

I won't complain about this draft, even without a 1st round pick BB drafted what looks like 3 solid players that will be starters or at least contribute already on this season in Cyrus Jones, Mitchell and Thuney. That's more than you expect in a normal draft. And some other good projects like Karras and Valentine. But then we used a 2nd round pick last year in Jordan Richards and I have to question that choice.

To me the “no-Lewis“ situation is not about White (I even saw some positive signs of his improved running). Its just a huge blow to the entire offence not because of how much better he is at running or receiving but because its impossible to read the offence with him on the field (taking the pressure off our depleted OL as well). Moreover this might take away a significant amount from our passing extravaganza ...

White and Blount are very solid each in his own “part“ of the game. But they cannot replace Lewis because with him its like you have both Blount and White on the field - on the other hand, with Blount and White you always have a one-sided back on the field. At least with Brown and Gaffney you keep the Ds guessing. Unfortunately they are far from Lewis.

I hope the slight signs of White's improved running efforts show up already on Friday. Its a great situation that we go against Panthers for this incredibly crucial dress rehearsal. If we cannot run on Friday (without underlining our intentions w Develin + 2TE + 6th OL in Fleming) I am moving to a trade for RB camp.

Of course they should have drafted a RB. That was plainly obvious when the offseason started. They didn't. Now the team has to hope that decision doesn't come back to bite them in the ass.

This team has no chance at running the ball with this news yet we have the best group of weapons in the NFL. Offense could be 65-70% pass?

The problem with your statement is that it ignores the game plans they had. Such as the 1st Bills game and 1st Jets game where they purposely went pass heavy. It also ignores the issues the Offensive line was having with all the injuries and ignores when Blount went down..

A significant percentage of ACL injuries are non-contact. Hell, we saw it with Welker, and we saw it with a dumbass celebrating a sack. There's nothing telltale about such a happening.

This is incorrect.. The "non-contact" incidents are the finishing of the ACL tearing. Not when the original injury occurred. And yes, I'm speaking from experience. 99% of the time that someone tears an ACL in a "non-contact" situation, it's because the ACL had already been damaged by a previous event and the "non-contact" situation was just it giving out finally.

This forum seems pretty unreasonable in regards to James White. Poor when given the hand off (can't tell if he's improved yet), but pretty damn good when utilized as a receiver. And that is very important for our offense.

I'd be feeling pretty panicky if we got the news that Dion is out of commission and James White wasn't on the roster. He helps soften the blow till Lewis returns.

People seem to ignore that when White was being given the hand-off, the O-line was in shambles. But yeah, let's blame it all on White.. Because, well, the O-line doesn't have anything to do with a RBs success..

Yes. I don't get why people act like Blount suddenly can't run the ball, he was actually pretty solid last year when they did give him the ball

Jax- 18 car 78 yards (4.3ypc) 3 TD
Dal- 13 car 74 yards (5.7ypc)
Ind- 16 car 83 yards (5.8ypc) 1 TD
Mia- 17 car 72 yards (4.2 ypc)
Was- 29 car 129 yards (4.4ypc) 1 TD
NYG- 19 car 66 yards (3.5 ypc) 1 TD **
Buf- 19 car 66 yards (3.5ypc) ***
Phi- 13 car 54 yards (4.2ypc)****
Hou- 10 car 53 yards (5.3ypc)*****

** Remember Bryan Stork was the starting RT for this one
*** Again OL was banged up as this was the game after NYG
**** Would have gotten the ball more but the Pats were in a hole
*****This all came in a quarter and a half as he went out in the middle of the 2nd quarter and didn't return

It's also not like he was given a lot of chances to establish himself as a runner. Only carried it 22 times last year which i'm sure people will say "It's because they realized he wasn't good" Which I reject that opinion, most carries he had in a game in the regular season was 3 last year. Guy wasn't given a chance to establish himself as a runner
