Report: Dion Lewis to undergo 2nd surgery.

This is more than a 3-week clean up. Sounds like he will miss most of the season. I love Dion, but BB has to find another more reliable solution.

Schef must have gotten word before Curran's update so he's just following Jim McBride's initial report. He'll start on PUP and doesn't need the ACL surgery, so it could be a Week 7 return possibly, if healthy.

IMO, Bishop Sankey is a name I'd look out for when the first roster cuts happen in 9 days...lots of other players will be let go of too. Pats may wait and see before doing something.

8-10 weeks.

Great question. I have no earthly idea.

I like Gaffney but I don't think he is a world-beater.

Assuming Lewis goes to the PUP, if it were me....

Blount
Gaffney
White
Boldin
Develin

I really wish Donald Brown was out there. Hes a decent backup. OK runner and good receiver out of the backfield.

What happened to Brown? Did I miss something?

I say let him fully recover and use him in the 2nd half of the season when we really need fresh legs.

Without Deion we won't be as versatile.

This team has no chance at running the ball with this news yet we have the best group of weapons in the NFL. Offense could be 65-70% pass?

Trying to be optimistic, but this sounds like more than a 3-week meniscus clean up. Sounds like he will miss most of the season. I love Dion, but BB has to find another more reliable solution.

We need another RB now, but I think White will fill in the receiving back role just fine.

Dion was phenomenal last year, but with all of our new weapons we've added, he was more of a luxury if anything in terms of what he did as a receiver.

Hurts the running game but there isn't a big dropoff in the passing game from Lewis to White. Lewis was on a pace of 900 yards receiving last year before he got hurt. White was on a pace of 800 yards after he he took over Lewis receiving back role

Dion was getting pulled out of games in the 4th quarter.

I do like White and hopefully he makes another leap.

Add it to the list. Luckily it isn't another ACL tear

It makes me mad that there were so many running backs available. All we had to do was just sign one for cheap, or draft one in the later rounds.

We couldn't even get one God damn RB.

Yup.

Not drafting one was a major blunder.

BB is the GoAT but not infallible.

I think he really screwed up.

The running game where Lewis makes people miss is what were missing the most without him but since its a cleanup and hes due back in mid to late Oct its about as good a scenario as one can hope for.
