What Kraft Should Have Done Last Year, re: Deflategate

This is one of the most bizarre posts I've ever seen in this forum. I can't decide whether to give you an award for dubious achievement or alert those helpful gentlemen in the white coats.
These guys?

Lighten up, Francis.
Everybody calls me Psycho.

Am I color blind, or isn't Pat wearing "historically accurate" blue???

>Have checked lots of renderings, have not seen any patriots or minutemen with a star on their hats.

...lots of Brits though, with the flying elvis' expression...

Beyond the fact of it, is that the reasoning for the perpetration was beyond flawed; the motivation behind it was malevolently ignorant. Besides creating the flying elvis cult, their descendants are all card-carrying members of the anti-Patriots jihad.

Thanks for your thoughtful points and advice.

My (Brian's) reaction to the news (from Stewie) that the Patriots were changing their logo and uniforms in 1993:

You really DO love bad cartoon characters.

Kraft threw Brady under the bus.

Kraft came out accepting the fine and loss of draft picks for the good of the league and other 31 owners as if the Pats were guilty. This is after he demanded an apology from the NFL.

Sad part is that I wouldnt be shocked to see Booster Seat Bob hugging it up with Goodell tomorrow.

Yeah, I guess I'm hopeless. I wasn't at that game in '79, but when I read about the halftime challenge the next day I remember thinking the exact same thing I did a couple years after I missed that date with Halle Berry in '85: "WHEW, dodged a bullet on that one..."

I think Bob was projecting a rationality and maturity and responsibility and consistency and sensibility and moral consciousness onto Goodell that he should have known by then, never existed by virtue of Goodell's behavior thoughout his tenure, including the railroading in '07. It's like expecting some sort of growth or change in a malevolent two year old, it's just never going to happen. Mr. Kraft isn't the first person to fall into this sort of trap.

These things never happened when Pat the Patriot was the logo.

The team had solidarity despite turmoil.

This antiKraft juvenile Bull **** should end. I recall one Mr. Sullivan biting his nose to spite his face and firing his Coach on the eve of a playoff with Houston! What utter idiocy! No thanks..... I'll take philantropic and smart Kraft anyday, and twice on any Sunday.

the FOTM will continue along with the utterly idiotic proclamation "I'm gone after Brady" or "I'm gone after Brady and BB" ....... can't just go now......or can't just go whenever quietly..... have to continue with the proclamation as though someone will beg them to stay even though they know they're not going anywhere

I think some of the FOTM actually deserves deflategate and the possible scenario that because of the fans and not the team that goodell decided he has to do it.

You're right; but I think fans, clearly, need to express their anger and frustration somewhere, which is better than bottling it up. I'm one of those who aren't giving up on Kraft; he's not dumb.

The urgency here is that this franchise is simply under full attack by destructive. malevolent, criminal, corrupt, hostile and powerful controlling members of the league and their fellow franchises. There is absolutely no indication that any of these railroadings will stop.

What I do not understand, is how Al Michaels was able to broadcast the Super Bowl last year and keep his sanity with Chris Collinsworth babbling the whole game about the Patriots' "major, earth-shattering, unmitigated cheating scandal of which they are 100% guilty and for which they should be punished with death..." the entire game.

and yet, somehow the Pats will find a way to be near the top

I never have had much of a regard for Kraft other than the selfish interest of keeping the team I root for around..........I had no problem with him being the manipulative jerk who took advantage of situations to first secure the parking lot known as Foxborough Stadium, then the Pats themselves, and then the dog and pony shows he played with Menino about the waterfront stadium and the people of CT before getting the new stadium built. It's the same slime, but it's different when it's working for you.......but I've always seen him for what he is......a rich, whiny, manipulative jerk that most of the time did stuff that worked for me....which is why I don't sweat him now

I believe its for this exact reason that BB chose the parameters that he did for his spot with the Pats......I honestly think that Kraft can't tell BB what to do and that with the exception of the items in the NFL franchise charter that defines the owners responsibility, BB is calling the shots when it comes to the team. BB was present for the whole Parcells exit and he still wound up taking the job (in a pretty bizarre manner, I might add) for Kraft which tells me that Kraft is a guy you can work with.

when it comes to the Pats, Kraft is a half-drunk pom-pom waving rich fan clown who is literally the only person that BB can't say 'shut the f*ck up' to ...... and it shows

to me, being critical of him is completely pointless

************, the constant Kraft whining is making this board next to unreadable.
Seriously.

Can we have a sub forum for the people who want to go on their little rants about Bob? I'm not the happiest with him either, but what's done is done already.

I don't know what you guys expected from this thread, but I've seen exactly what I expected to see and I saw it in under 10 posts.

I don't think I'd prefer any other owner over Robert. He deserves credit for the franchise's success, and like all of us he's not perfect. It seems to me that he may have been bashing himself a little bit recently over the way some things turned out.

I hope you aren't referring to Pat Patriot as a bad cartoon character, because if you are those are fighting words.

I'm with @Actual Pats Fan on this and I think many others are. We all prefer Pat over Elvis, but I don't think we're as determined to see it changed back. It never will be.

In all of my 56 years of rooting for the Pats I never once paid to see the owner owning the team. I'm sure there are plenty of owners who could sign the paycheck for Brady.

Any suggestion that the entirety of any owner's impact on the success of her/his team involves signing any player's paycheck is absurd. You must have slept through the regimes of Billy "The Cheapest Prick in America" and James "Meet Me in St. Louis" Orthwein. If you've been rooting for the Patriots for 56 years and fail to recognize Robert Kraft's contributions to their success, you should have found another team to root for beginning around 1993. I believe most Patriot fans have been frustrated, embarrassed and angered by Kraft's handling of Deflategate. With that said, pretending that he didn't save this franchise and hasn't done an overall good job as an owner reeks of phoniness and ingratitude.

Yeah, I mean, we could be Oilers fans (true they have another team now, but...) or SuperSonics fans...it could be worse.
