wow, that's unexpected. Seems like there's a pretty severe mental hurdle with him. By all accounts he looks great in practice, but once we see him on the field his hands are just atrocious. I'm of the mindset that if he hasn't put it together by now, I doubt he ever will. Apparently Belichick is still holding out a small measure of hope for him, though? Still betting he's just preseason fodder unless he shows up in a big way.

Yeah, with LaFell and Tyms gone the team doesn't have many receivers with knowledge of the playbook on the roster. Boyce could simply be preseason fodder to allow the team to run practice while whatever new additions at WR get up to speed. And if he somehow learns to catch, maybe he sticks.

The Problem with Josh Boyce is he never had knowledge of our playbook...we could find better on the streets.

This could be a series of one-year deals for the next five years.
Belichick clearly loves him. The team loves him. But he's not going to overpay for a fullback.
