It wasn't hype. If you attended any of the TCs he was very good and he did decent vs Jordy Nelson.

yes but that is training camp, lots of guys have had good training camps and then been bad. im not saying he is definitely going to be bad but nobody has seen him play an actual NFL game and they putting him in as a starting corner next season

I really think IRing Roberts was a big mistake. He's probably healthy now and we badly need another CB with tight coverage skills. He could have been what Butler was for us last year at the end of the season.

yeah an undrafted free agent with a good training camp must be the next butler.

Hes already has better man-to-man cover abilities than Ryan. That much is certain.

Historically the team does not start 7th rd DBs in the preseason and he acquitted himself well vs Nelson.

To your point who knows if the kid has it but based on what I've seen, as long as he has a good offseason and has absorbed the playbook hes got a real shot to start because of his man to man skills.
