USA Today has written about Amendola getting a suspension. I didn't see it as head to head intent buy I do think the helmets touched.

There was also a helmet to helmet hit on the series before when J White got alligator arms on a pass between his hands. No call

BB made his position known on that particular play.

Incorrect. Hightower made contact in bounds, and momentum carried them out of bounds. In his rambling, Fouts even admitted contact was initiated in bounds.

I never said initial contact was not in-bounds. The problem I saw was that contact continued long after he was already out of bounds.

There was contact as they both continued out of bounds, but it's not like Hightower maintained his balance and slammed him to the ground. It clearly wasn't a penalty.

Amendola hit hit him less forcefully, more sideways, than it initially looked. There was no viciousness in it.
Unlike this hit that did not draw a flag. Watch this. Shazier intentionally lowers his head and drills Bernard in the face mask.

The moment I saw your post I knew who the writer was going to be so I checked it and sure enough it was the same clown who wrote the article saying Brady needs to admit guilt to save his reputation, then he went on Dennis and Callahan and Callahan set him up and caught him in a flat out lie. It's Chris Chase and he has a big time agenda against the Patriots.

I think the confusion is coming from BB's comments that he didn't make a fair catch signal. BB means that Amendola did not make the fair catch signal, therefore he's eligible to block.

If we're going to start declaring every player on special teams chasing a punt as defenseless, we should change the game to flag football right now.

The most likely reason is to prevent the man from downing the football, in the hopes that the ball will bounce into the end zone.

Which speaks to Danny's tremendous football IQ...which is likely the product of excellent coaching. He did the right thing.

I am certainly no expert on rules, but I am under the impression that intentionally hitting another player with the crown of your helmet in the neck and head area was against the rules. Even if it isn't, and you'll have to quote a rule for me to believe you, a flag should have been thrown for an unsportsmanlike personal. Trying to injure someone IS against the rules, and if you watch that video there can be no doubt that Shazier hit him with the crown of his helmet in the facemask intentionally.

I don't know, I thought Ian Eagle was gonna have an orgasm when the Chiefs scored their first TD to make the game 21-13. But maybe he was just trying to make the game sound more exciting. But he yelled "Chiefs are on the comeback trail !" And I laughed, was thinking, way to hide your bias there buddy.

But I loved when they went back to Bart Scott and all of those guys at halftime, you could see the Patriot's hatred on Scott's face during halftime, him and Gonzalez basically pleading with the Chiefs to come back. The look of utter despair on Scott's face postgame was priceless.

Mike Carey gets most calls wrong. It's a running joke in my family. Even my wife and kids, who aren't serious fans, know and point it out when he makes a judgment that it will probably go the other way. He said that the call should be overturned when Brady made his scramble to the pylon, and he later focused on the technicalities of the defenseless receiver rule, when the penalty was for a blindside block. (The announcers relayed this information, which I assume came from the Ever Equanimous Dean Blandino, soon after the fact.)

The call should have been overturned. He was exactly correct on Brady's body rotating so that the ball passed over the goal line right before he hit the pylon.

This is my question as well. I can't remember another time where the receiving team blocked the kicking team solely to prevent the downing of a punt. What is the rule? Would it be legal to block the guy out of the way and return the punt?
